Been seeing popular streamers playing the FragPunk beta? There’s still time to sign up and play.
Developer Bad Guitar Studio is pitching FragPunk as “a fast-paced 5v5 hero shooter with powerup cards that change the rules of each round.” Streamers like Sacriel, who have over 750,000 followers, have been showcasing beta gameplay on Twitch to the interest of several thousands. Now, many are asking when they’ll also get a chance to try out this new game.
With all the hype, here’s how to sign up for the FragPunk beta.
Interested players from the US and Canada can request access to the FragPunk beta on Steam, though they may have to wait until the next test.
The beta, or more accurately alpha, opened on June 27 and runs until July 1. Notably, Bad Guitar Studios is running a closed beta test, which means that players have to be invited or given special access. Initially, players were given codes through Discord to sign up for beta testing. It’s possible, though unlikely, that the FragPunk team could drop more codes there before the end of the test.
For those who didn’t get on the jump, there’s still a chance they can get into the beta through Steam itself.
Otherwise, players are going to have to wait until the next beta test is released. The Discord page will ultimately be the best place to find out when it’ll be and who can sign up. Until then, excited parties can make sure that their system meets the minimum requirements to participate.
Beta testing is an important step in any game’s development, so it’s likely that there will be another before FragPunk releases.
