All new players are required to complete some missions in Brimstone’s Basic Training event in Valorant, so here’s the easiest way to get them done.
While most players who join Valorant already have a decent understanding of FPS games and shooting in general. But Riot has put together a practice range for those who are entirely new to the game. First-time players are spawned on an empty map, greeted by Brimstone’s voice welcoming them to Basic Training. Completion of this training is required before players can start playing Valorant.
In patch 9.07, Riot added two new missions that players must complete in the Valorant Basic Training event to be able to queue Valorant ranked and casual mode. Here are all the missions.
Prior to 9.07, players were required to complete a shooting test and practice in the range, but that has now been replaced by defusing and planting the spike as a team. That means the yellow blip will appear on the main site, leading players to the spike plant location instead of the range.
That change, however, doesn’t impact XP gained. For both missions, XP is still 2,000 points each. By completing the two new missions, players will get a Code Red card and GLHF spray. The entire Basic Training event will reward 20,000 XP points and ten different rewards, including free agent, gun buddies, cards, and sprays. Depending on the player’s skill, a Basic Training event can take anywhere from five to 20 minutes.
Once all missions are completed, the main menu will load, and players can start their journey in Valorant.
