The easy way to change voice language in Valorant

Valorant players may want to change the language of voice lines but still retain English text, and the process is surprisingly easy.

When it comes to international representation, Riot did pretty well with Valorant. Diversity and inclusion have always been a driving force behind Riot’s design philosophy, and that extends to its fictional characters. Valorant’s Agents run the gamut across every populated continent. Riot also made an effort to be inclusive of its players. Not every Valorant player is fluent in English, so the game has been localized in a bevy of languages, both through voice and text. However, some players may want a mix of languages in their game for whatever reason.

Here’s the easy way to change the voice languages of characters in Valorant.

How to change voice language in Valorant

Players can change the voice language in Valorant through the client.

•  In the top right, click on the profile picture
• Go to settings
• Change game text language to preference
• Close the menu

Note: Do not update the client if you want to change the voice lines but keep the English text. Follow the next few steps first.

• Open File Explorer
• Look for the Riot Games folder in the installation drive
• Click on VALORANT > live > ShooterGame > Content > Paks

• Copy and paste en_US_Text-WindowsClient.pak and en_US_Text-WindowsClient.sig files to the desktop

• Update the client and wait for it to finish
• Refresh the Paks folder. It should now reflect the new languages
• Copy the file names of the Text-WindowsClient files for the new language, as shown in the images below

• Rename the desktop files with the copied file names.

• Copy the desktop files directly into the Paks folder
• When prompted to replace files, select “Replace files in the destination”
• Play the game

The next time the player opens the game, the new voice language should reflect while still keeping the English text. Remember, this method can work for any combination of languages. For example, a player may choose to have Chinese text language but Italian voice lines with the methods above.
