Dokibird has been a staple of the vtuber community for quite some time now as she delivers quality streams every time she goes live, and while fans sometimes a request a face reveal, few know she’s already done on.
Dokibird has made her triumphant return in 2024 after a three-year retirement to assume another role as Selen Tatsuki for Nijisanji. However, this didn’t work out, which resulted in her coming back as Dokibird. These events significantly increased her popularity and she’s now watched by thousands of viewers per stream. With this kind of popularity, it’s not a surprise for people to be curious about her appearance.
So, what does she look like?
Vtuber Dokibird has done a face reveal, though it was a single social media post in 2020.
In 2020, Dokibird posted a photo of her face on her Twitter account. This is the only known photo of her online. After this image was posted, she hasn’t posted another image of her as of writing. Not posting photos of themselves online is quite common for vtubers, as they usually want to keep their identities private.
But recently, there’s been some type of change to that tradition. A lot of well-known vtubers have been slowly revealing their faces on their social medias. Among these vtubers are Kuro, Matara, and Bao the Whale. The three of them have recently posted parts of their faces online and haven’t been that shy to reveal their body. Bao and Kuro, for example, have been making content such as vlogging and IRL streaming which fully present their whole body. Bao still wears a face mask, but she has posted pictures of herself on social media that reveal her whole face.
One of the reasons why vtubers reveal their faces or bodies is because they want to extend their content to the third dimension. This means that they want to attend conventions or make content physically. Kuro’s IRL streams and Bao’s vlogs are just examples of this. That being said, Doki’s face reveal came before her current comeback. Dokibird retired in May 2021, went on to become Nijisanji’s Selen, and only came back in February 2024. The lack of an official face reveal by Dokibird recently might indicate that she doesn’t want to expand her content at the moment.
