In his victory speech, Sandfall Interactive CEO Guillaume Broche stated that “actions spoke louder than words” to thank the community. As such, the game immediately released a free DLC.
To get it, there’s nothing more to do than to simply update the game from Steam, Epic Games, or the Game Pass!

Verso’s Drafts can be entered right next to Lumière, after unlocking the ability to fly.
Everything below this point contains spoilers for the game and DLC!
Verso’s Drafts explores an area painted by Verso as a child. This place is his private hideout, full of the magic and wonders of the imagination of a child. Full of Gestrals, bright colors, and candy, it gives the players a lighthearted experience. Verso’s Drafts focuses on the fun and weirdness of Expedition 33’s tone, as if to heal from the heartbreaks of the rest of the game.
Everything then comes crashing down as the final boss of this area is Osquio, a terrifying new superboss. Osquio’s attacks line up faster than any attack previously seen in the main game.
To keep the fun going, the two empty canvases in the Endless Tower can now be accessed. Behind one of them stands Clea Unleashed, the second new superboss in this update. Clea Unleashed summons even more powerful Nevrons than her original fight did. On top of them, she’s shielded by a barrier, making her immune to any damage. Landing a counter-attack disables her barrier until her next turn, which is the only way to deal damage to her.
Behind the other one, Simon, the Divergent Star. That’s right, an even harder version of Simon’s fight! The Divergent Star is equipped to counter the tactics players used to cheese through Simon’s fight. Simon, the Divergent Star, has greatly higher stats and will always fight first, no matter what. On top of it, he will play again unless the player can block his attacks.

Patch 1.5.0 of Expedition 33 was released as a thank-you gesture for winning the Game Awards. Obviously, the DLC would have been released regardless, but the success of the game is nothing short of impressive.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won 9 categories at the Game Awards, the most ever. The previous record was held by The Last Of Us Part II, which claimed 7 categories in 2020. In fact, Clair Obscur is now the second most decorated franchise ever, despite having one single game. It sits right behind Final Fantasy, which won 10 awards over its lifetime with over 130 titles.
Clair Obscur’s achievements extend beyond the game, too. Two weeks ago, Sandfall Interactive announced an orchestral tour for the music of the game. With 19 dates from March to May, l’Orchestre Curieux will be playing in the biggest concert halls of 8 countries in Western Europe. It took one week for every single date to be sold out. The three venues in Paris were even full within minutes.
Every player will get something for their money in the new Expedition 33 Thank You update – especially since it’s free!
