The best way to stream on Kick with Streamlabs

Kic

Kick has quickly become one of the prominent gaming streaming platforms, and Streamlabs is the best way to do it.

For all of its controversy, Kick has risen to the ranks of popular streaming platforms. Not just because of its streamers, but also because it offers features unique from other platforms. Streamlabs is one of the most user-friendly streaming software options available, so many new streamers choose it for broadcasting. However, the default Stream platform menu currently only includes seven platforms, and Kick is not one of them.

Despite this, streamers can still go live on Kick using Streamlabs, and here’s how aspiring streamers can get started.

How to stream on Kick using Streamlabs

Here’s how to connect Streamlabs with Kick to stream on Stake-owned platform:

  • Log in to Kick.com with an existing account and complete your profile if you haven’t already
  • Once your account is ready, head to your Kick account settings in the dashboard
  • Find the Stream Key section for the key you need to copy to connect Streamlabs to Kick
  • Next, open Streamlabs and go to Settings by clicking the gear icon in the lower-left corner
  • Click Stream and change the Stream Type to Custom Stream Site
  • Enter the server URL “rtmp://rtmp.kick.com/live” and the stream key
  • Click Save or Done to confirm these settings

The account is now connected to Streamlabs. Before going live, it’s worth looking into some settings to get the best results.

To adjust the stream’s bitrate, navigate to the Output settings. Kick typically supports a bitrate between 4,500 and 8,000 kbps for 1080p streaming, but feel free to adjust it as needed. In the video settings, set the resolution to 1080p and the frame rate to 60 fps for a smoother stream. The bitrate is the primary setting that determines the final quality of the stream. With a good internet connection, users can opt for a bitrate of 8,000 kbps.

Now that settings are optimized, it’s time to set up the Stream’s visual elements. Add sources to the main Streamlabs screen, such as game capture, camera feed, and overlays. Streamers can also add alerts from Streamlabs’ built-in alert options or custom ones for Kick, which can be set up through URL overlays.

Once set with the setup and visuals, click “Go Live” in Streamlabs to start the Kick broadcast.
