Kinich needs plenty of character and talent ascension materials to unlock his full potential, and luckily, they are not hard to track down.
The new dendro damage dealer for Version 5.0, Kinich first popped up in Natlan’s Ignition teaser with characters like Mavuika, Kachina, and others. He’s a dendro claymore user revealed to be heavily reliant on burning and burgeon reactions. When he comes out, he’s expected to be a powerhouse, and may even match one of Genshin Impact’s top DPS Alhaitham in terms of damage and strength. But reaching that point is not an easy task to do, as players will first need to get their hands on Kinich’s ascension materials.
No need to look further though, as everything Kinich needs is right there in Natlan.
Kinich’s ascension demands a mix of materials including Nagadus Emerald, Saurian Claw Succulents, Juvenile Fangs, Seasoned Fangs, Tyrant’s Fangs, Overripe Flamegranate, and plenty of mora.
Just as with any characters in Genshin Impact, players must gather a certain amount of these materials to upgrade Kinich to level 90. Here are the materials needed for each of the six ascension levels.
Between each ascension, players must spend character EXP materials such as Wanderer’s Advice, Adventurer’s Experience, and Hero’s Wit to get to the next level.
Mora is the easiest to get out of all the items on the list. Anyone can score a bunch of mora simply by exploring the map, completing quests and achievements, defeating small and large monsters, and looting chests. They can also farm this currency from Ley Line Outcrops at the cost of their Resins.
Every player who is simply fond of dendro characters like Kinich needs to stock up on Nagadus Emerald Slivers, Fragments, Gemstones, and Chunks. Character ascensions require an ample amount of it and luckily, they’re not difficult to find. All a player has to do is defeat bosses like Dendro Hypostasis, Jadeplume Terrorshroom, and Guardian of Apep’s Oasis, which are all located within Sumeru. To save some resins, players could also opt to use the Crafting table to convert other gemstones to Nagadus Emerald with the aid of Dust of Azoth.
Saurian Claw Succulent is among Natlan’s local specialties and is described as a meaty plant shaped like the paw of a ‘great animal’. Kinich mains will have to gather around 168 pieces of this plant, which is quite a lot. But if they run out of this material, they can simply head to another world and ask to farm there. This material is found within Natlan, mainly in the Sulforous Veins. To easily locate this material, players could rely on the Official Genshin Impact Interactive map, or make use of characters with local specialty passives like Kachina.
Overripe Flamegranate meanwhile is a character ascension item used by both Kinich and Kachina, and is dropped by the newest bosses in the region of Natlan, Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King. Successfully defeating it allows players to spend 40 resins to receive several boss drops like Nagadus Emerald, ascension materials, mora and artifacts.
Finally, players can collect Juvenile Fangs, Seasoned Fangs, and Tyrant’s Fangs simply by finishing off and hunting down the following Natlan Saurians:
Hitting the highest talent levels for Kinich requires players to collect certain amounts of Teachings of Kindlings, Guide to Kindlings, Philosophies of Kindlings, Juvenile Fangs, Seasoned Fangs, Tyrant’s Fangs, Denial and Judgment, and Crown of Insight materials.
With his elemental skill being the focal point of his kit, it is important to invest more materials in upgrading this talent, alongside his elemental burst. Do note that these materials only apply to one talent, and players will need to invest three times as much to max out all three of them.
Here are all the materials Kinich needs for every talent ascension level.
Teaching of Kindlings, Guide to Kindling, and Philosophies of Kindling can be picked up by entering the Blazing Ruins within the region of Natlan. Just a heads up, the Kindlings series is only available on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Another talent material that can drain all players’ resin is the Denial and Judgment. Enter the Scattered Ruins boss domain found in the western corner of Mont Esus East, Fontaine, and defeat The Knave. Among other drops like mora, artifacts and ascension materials, players may receive varying amounts of Fading Candle, Silken Feather, or Denial and Judgment.
And to finish up, players should make sure to have Crown of Insights in their inventory. This is the final piece needed for one talent to reach level 10. Before crowning a character, players should definitely think it over since it’s pretty rare. Since the game launched, players have only been able to get 50 Crowns of Insights from flagship events and offerings.
