The best way to decide the teams in the Major would be one massive RMR

FBL-WC-2014-BEL-FANS

As much fun as it is to see all the EU teams play against each other while TYLOO get a free pass – lord knows I love seeing TYLOO at big events – there’s an even better way to do it.

Yes, we could keep the NA teams apart from the EU ones until the big event if you really want to find out who is best at beating players called ‘BootyLord’, ‘PwnAlone’ and ‘nitr0’, or we could just have one massive melting pot.

Tell me you’re not into that idea, I dare you.

Is 52 teams enough?

Currently we’re flying 52 teams into one place in order to… split them up into regional groups. That doesn’t make much sense to me.

We have our own seeding system of 16 EU teams and the rest split up between the minor regions, but we don’t need that at all – we can just have a massive 60 team group with the seeding only deciding how many of those regions teams being in the pool.

The format barely even matters at this point. I just want hundreds of games of CS between every single team in contention. Give me a massive league table where they all play a whole bunch of BO1s against each other, twice over.

Basically, the NBA but all in one go.

Is this going to take way too long to be feasible logistically? Oh, absolutely. Is anyone going to watch Anonymo vs Isurus? Absolutely not. Does that matter? Nope.

Open games that the organiser can’t be arsed to stream to community casters, play the games all day for about five weeks and it’ll be glorious content. Let me watch Major winners relegated to having to play against Lynn Vision just to qualify.

If it’s all BO1s, it won’t take *that* long and won’t be that much of a detriment.

I understand this will never happen, and for a whole lot of reasons, but setting up three different RMR events in the same place doesn’t seem like a great idea – put them all in one place and let the NA teams actually fight for their spots.

You’d really understand then who deserves to go. Who is the best team over 100 games? Are Complexity actually better than Sprout?

This is a pipe dream, but I want to see hundreds of Major games over a few weeks with upsets, drama, storylines, rivalries and chaos. You can’t say it wouldn’t be fun.

Is this going to take way too long to be feasible logistically? Oh, absolutely. Is anyone going to watch Anonymo vs Isurus? Absolutely not. Does that matter? Nope.
