It’s the spookiest time of the year, so here’s a helpful Fortnitemares quest guide for those looking to celebrate in-game.
Fortnitemares is almost as old as Fortnite itself, debuting during Chapter 2 Season 1 in 2017. This year’s celebration not only boasts new quests, but also a wide variety of new Halloween-themed skins and a Lego Fortnite battle pass. Players will have a lot to keep themselves busy with if they hope to collect all of the new Fortnitemares items in time.
With the in-game event lasting until November 2, here’s how to complete each of the major Fortnitemares quests before the next mini season rolls out.
To earn the most free Fortnitemares rewards, players can expect to spend a lot of time grinding XP from quests.
The main Fortnitemares XP quest has 11 different stages, where the requirement to pass is 80,000 unique XP. Players have to earn a total of 880,000 XP, then, to unlock all 11 sequential rewards. Each stage provides a different cosmetic, emote, or otherwise Halloween-themed item.
Other Fortnitemares quests below offer a limited number of XP that players can redeem in the XP quest. Additionally, players can spend time completing weekly quests either solo or with party assist, work towards milestones, or win a Victory Royale. While it may take time, there’s always a way to earn XP for those looking.
Horde Rush quests offer the chance to earn a lot of XP in the Halloween-exclusive LTM.
During Fortnitemares 2024, players can participate in Horde Rush and work to defeat armies upon armies of evil cubes. The limited-time mode has two different quests to complete over the course of Fortnitemares. There are ten total Horde Rush quests, five a part of Decimate the Horde and five from the newly unlocked Eliminate the Horde. Each mission completion grants the player 20,000 XP.
Additionally, there are two more hidden Horde Rush quests that players can unlock after completing the main mission lines. Again, each i worth 20,000 XP.
In addition to Horde Rush quests, new Fortnitemares Battle Royale quests offer up lots of XP.
The first Battle Royale questline, called Nitemare One, involves completing different missions in both the main and Zero Build modes. Completing each step also offers 20,000 XP to any and all players who manage to do so. The missions mainly revolve around the recently added Billy the Puppet from Saw who hangs out in Freaky Fields.
The Nitemare Two quests opened on October 14 and seem to involve more travel around the Fortnite island than interacting with a targeted IP. Ultima Carver, for instance, is a Fortnitemares exclusive boss. The XP rewards for each step remain at 20,000.
Nitemare Three went live on October 18 at 10 am EST and include the demon Mephisto. Players can find him in The Underworld and, in making a deal, trade HP for a random weapon. They also have the option to virtually sacrifice themselves in exchange for the health of thir squad. Meanwhile, Ultima Carver resides in the Brawler’s Patch.
Nitemare Four became available for completion on October 21. The below listed NPCs are also available in the Fortnite shop as player skins.
As Nitemare Five opened, players have the possibility to earn 600,000 XP through battle royale quests alone. This is enough to unlock all Fortnitemares rewards up through the Fiendish Wand pickaxe.
The final Nitemare Six grants users a possible 720,000 XP from Battle Royale alone. Any remaining XP will have to be found through Horde Rush, other Fortnite modes, or by just playing the game itself.
All of the Fortnitemares quests have now been unlocked and are available until November 2. Players certainly have a lot of grinding to keep their hands full and unlock as many of the free rewards as they can.
