Apex Legends Season 22 is bringing a lot of big changes, and the return of duos means scrambling to find the best picks for the game mode.
Apex Legends fans demanded the return of duos, which has teams of two duking it out in a massive battle royale map. To please the fanbase after some unpopular battle pass changes that initially had players wanting to boycott, it looks like Respawn Entertainment is making some popular improvements. Now, Duos will return from September 3 to 17. It will be available for new map E-District as well as Broken Moon and Storm Point.
Wondering which legends work best? Here are the best choices for Apex Legends duos in Season 22.
Conduit is a support legend that is almost seen as a must-have in duos. She provides temporary shields to her ally while also putting down an Energy Barricade that protects players from incoming damage and slows down enemies. This, along with her passive speed boost when approaching her teammate, makes her great for rushing away from danger, rotating with ease, and providing mobile defense options in Apex Legends duos.
Meanwhile, Revenant can shield himself from damage with Forged Shadows for added defense. Assassin’s Instinct provides very useful intel, showing enemies that are low on health. During the time it’s activated, Revenant can also crouch walk faster and wall climb easier. Together, Conduit and Revenant have great mobility and defense, using impactful intel to know exactly where to set up defenses or even push an enemy team while appearing immortal due to the added shields.
Aggressive Duos players should also consider Bangalore and Bloodhound, two OG legends that have worked well together from the start. Bloodhound’s strength is tracking down enemies while Bangalore’s is catching them off guard with powerful artillery strikes once she knows it’s time to let loose. With these two together, other teams will have no choice but to run if they don’t want to be hunted down and then flooded with damage.
An added bonus is that Bangalore has Smoke Launcher, leaving every legend in the area blinded so they can no longer attack. Well, except for her and Bangalore since Bloodhound has the ability to track enemies through the smoke. While they’re struggling to figure out how to hide, Bangalore and Bloodhound can hunt them down while they’re blinded.
Teams that only have two players would do well to have Loba as one of their legends. Her ultimate, Black Market Boutique, makes it easier than ever to collect nearby loot from a safe location, allowing players to find exactly what they’re looking for. Pairing that with both legends’ mobility options, like Wraith’s Into the Void ability, creates tons of opportunities to quickly loot a hot spot and then rotate to a safe location.
Once the duo has everything they need, they are ready to throw down almost as well as a normal Apex Legends trio. The usual playstyle for this pair is to rush in with unsuspecting damage on a clueless team and then rush to safety if things get too hairy.
These two defensive legends may not be the most aggressive, but together, they are tough to take down.
Newcastle’s Castle Wall ultimate has him slam a shield into the ground to create a fortified wall that protects a targeted location. This wall has nine segments with 750 HP each and it stuns and damages enemies with electricity. Gibby has Dome of Protection, allowing him to create a large dome-shaped shield that blocks incoming damage. Within the shield, Gibraltar can revive allies faster. These two barriers combined make it almost impossible to take a location once these two legends have it locked down.
While protected, Gibraltar can release Defensive Bombardment to send a strike on a targeted location. Teams caught inside will be heavily damaged, further keeping them away.
