Dokibird and Victoria Brightshield are two popular vtubers currently slated to join one of the biggest fighting game events, but their joint appearance may not go so smoothly.
Sajam Slam is a tournament organized by fighting game personality Stephen “Sajam” Lyon where a bunch of content creators, who aren’t that well-versed in fighting games, will come together and play against each other. The event features a wide variety of content creators including a sizable chunk of vtubers. It’s a fun way to see unexpected crossovers in streaming. However, one particular matchup has both fans and the players themselves worried.
Two vtubers, Victoria Brightshield and Dokibird, will compete in Sajam Slam, and here’s why that’s a big problem.
While Dokibird and Victoria Brightshield will both compete in Sajam Slam, they’ve agreed to avoid each other entirely.
In a stream, Doki addressed that she’s fine with Victoria Brightshield being in the same event as her. According to Doki, Sajam asked her if she was comfortable with having Victoria in the event. She said that it was fine with her and that it wouldn’t be fair for Victoria to get kicked out of the event, especially if she did not do anything wrong in the first place.
Sajam also commented regarding this issue saying that things behind the scenes are even simpler. He then added that he’s happy to have both Doki and Victoria in Sajam Slam and that he was just presented with certain rules that they were allowed to do and weren’t allowed to do.
These rules are also discussed in Doki’s stream where she addressed the issue. The rule in question is that Doki and Victoria shouldn’t have any interactions with each other. This meant that they wouldn’t fight each other in the tournament, nor could they be in the same team together.
This issue popped up as Dokibird was once a streamer under Nijisanji, which is the agency that Victoria Brightshield is currently working with. Doki, formerly Selen Tatsuki during her time in Nijisanji, had a very public falling-off which put Nijisanji in a bad light. As such, it was a surprise to find that Nijisanji has allowed Victoria to be in an event with Doki.
For now, it seems that the two of them can happily participate in a very special event curated by one of the icons of the fighting game community.
