Fans of VALORANT are going crazy on the internet, as new rumours suggest, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, the undisputed face of North American VALORANT, may be coming out of his recent retirement to represent Canada.
According to several industry insiders and social media leaks, the popular pro player turned content creator has allegedly been selected for the Canadian national roster ahead of the upcoming Esports Nations Cup (ENC).
While the news itself is huge, nothing can be said for sure right now as none of the rumours have been backed by official sources yet. Neither the ENC organizing committee nor TenZ himself has released an official statement regarding his participation.
TenZ’s retirement earlier this year was massive news for the industry. Sharing his desire to focus on content creation and personal growth after years of grueling professional play, his departure left a massive void in the competitive circuit.
But at the same time, ENC’s national-identity based format could convince some legends to return. If the rumors prove true, TenZ would not only provide Canada with world-class esports talent but also bring an unmatched level of experience to a young national squad.
According to AkamaruVal and AriVLRNT, the Canadian team is trying to lock the veteran. In a post on X, AriVLRNT said that TenZ will represent Canada in the ENC, and the update soon caught fire as multiple VALORANT news accounts replied and reshared it.
One of the most iconic moments of TenZ’s career came during the 2021 VALORANT Masters Reykjavík. It was the first international LAN in Valorant history, and TenZ, playing as a stand-in for Sentinels, produced a performance that many still consider the greatest individual showing in the game’s history.
During that tournament, TenZ’s domination was evident as he finished the event with an unprecedented average combat score (ACS) of nearly 290, consistently finding multi-kills that made even the greats watch in awe.
His Jett play was phenomenal, leading Sentinels to a flawless victory without dropping a single map. That performance crowned him as the best player in the world at the time, and it turned him into a global VALORANT icon.
