Teams & Schedule: European Masters 2022 Summer Split Event

While waiting for the LEC playoffs to resume, the 2022 European Masters summer split will offer the League of Legends fix that many crave.

The competition will take place from Aug. 24 until Sept. 25, and it will take place over two rounds: the play-ins and the group stage (current round).

2022 European Masters Summer Playoffs (Sep. 15-25)

All matches in this round are best-of-five-games series: the first team to reach three game victories wins the series outright.

Worth noting: all four LFL teams at EU Masters have made the playoffs. However, due to the way the bracket is shaped, the semifinals cannot contain all four LFL squads as two of them will face off in the quarterfinals.

The finals will take place on Sunday, Sep. 25 at 17:00 CET / 8 a.m. PST / 11 a.m. EST.

2022 European Masters Summer Play-in Stage (Aug. 24-27)

Before drawing the main event’s group stage, the 2022 European Masters’ Play-in stage must reach its conclusion. To that effect, Riot Games drew the play-in groups randomly as follows:

What is EU Masters?

EU Masters is the top League of Legends European competition outside the League of Legends European Championship. Historically, LEC teams have scouted for talent that thrives at this level; for example, MAD Lions spotted jungler Javier “Elyoya” Prades Batalla competing there before signing him in 2021.

Teams from the following national leagues qualify for the event:

• France: La Ligue Francaise de League of Legends (LFL) – four teams
• DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland): Prime League – three teams
• UK and Nordics: Northern League Championship (NLC) – three teams
• Spain: LVP SuperLiga (LVP SL) – three teams
• Poland and the Baltics: Ultraliga – three teams
• Italy: PG Nationals – two teams
• Balkans: Esports Balkan League (EBL) – two teams
• Greece and Cyprus: Greek Legends League (GLL) – two teams
• Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg): Elite Series – two teams
• Czech Republic and Slovakia: Hitpoint Masters – two teams
