Week three of the LEC Spring 2025 tournament’s regular season will see Team Vitality face Fnatic. While Fnatic is the favorite to win the upcoming match by a significant margin, it is possible that Vitality could create an upset.
The LEC Spring 2025 event promises great things to those who make it to the top, including cash prizes and a chance to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational and Esports World Cup. The competition is extremely fierce, with 10 top European teams duking it out on the big stage.
Week three’s fourth match will see Team Vitality and Fnatic battle it out. While neither team is risking elimination just yet, Vitality winning the upcoming match will give it some needed security considering that Fnatic has already won twice while Vitality only won once.
Fnatic has been the epitome of unpredictability thus far in the LEC. The team lost 0-2 against SK Gaming, which is considered one of the worst teams in the series, and then went on to defeat Karmine Corp 2-1 with a dominant game three. KC has established itself as one of the favorites to win the entire event after a runner-up finish at First Stand, so Fnatic shutting the side down is nothing short of impressive. However, it also raises the question of which Fnatic fans will see against Team Vitality.
Fnatic’s mid-laner Humanoid and bot-laner Upset are the biggest anomalies going into the match. Although both players performed excellently against Karmine Corp, it can’t be ignored how inconsistent they’ve been. Humanoid in particular has showcased high carry and throwing potential in different games, often during the same series. Much of the match against Vitality may be determined by the team’s jungler, Razork, who has a poor tendency to lose his cool when things start going awry, sometimes costing his team entire matches as a result.
While Fnatic has displayed inconsistency, Vitality’s individual members leave much to be desired. In particular, the team’s top-laner Naak Nako and jungler Lyncas haven’t performed well to date. Vitality’s silver lining and the player with the most carry potential is Czajek, the team’s mid-laner. While the bottom lane is fairly inconsistent, there’s a chance fans may see the same tactical and smart gameplay against Fnatic that Vitality used to success in its win over GiantX.
Below are the rosters for both teams in the upcoming match:
Team Vitality:
Fnatic:
The fearless draft system ensures that the same champions can’t be picked more than once in the same match. Thanks to this, fans can likely expect Team Vitality to go for all of its most popular picks, which includes Yasuo, Pantheon, Hwei, Varus, Alistar, and Rell. However, after seeing Naak Nako’s recent performance as Yasuo against Rogue, it wouldn’t be farfetched to assume he may switch things around and go for a different pick this time around.
As for Fnatic, the team has played one more match than Vitality in the ongoing tournament, and it’s safe to assume which champions its members will go for. Fnatic’s picks are likely to include Ambessa, Gnar, Rumble, Pantheon, Yone, Varus, Kai’Sa, and Rakan. The second support champion will likely be Alistar, Rell, or Leona, especially considering the recent tank support rising up through the LoL meta.
Team Vitality and Fnatic have met on the big stage 20 times, and Fnatic has came out as the victor 15 times. The team has a 75% win rate against Team Vitality, which is nothing short of impressive.
Fnatic is easily the favorite to win the upcoming match with a line of 1.08. By contrast, Vitality’s odds cements it as the definitive underdog against Fnatic.
Both teams have showcased unpredictable recent performances, but Fnatic has the edge thanks to its better overall experience and talent levels. The two roles that will likely influence the match the most are top and ADC. Oscarinin hasn’t displayed recent exceptional performance up top, but it’s likely more than enough to easily defeat Naak Nako. As for the bot lane, both teams have some potential. But Upset and Mikyx managed to dominate the bot lane twice against Karmine Corp, and doing the same here may bring Fnatic the victory.
The best fighting chance Vitality has is its mid-laner, Czajek. The player has carried the team to victory before, and considering how poorly Fnatic’s Humanoid has played recently, he could easily get enough kills and gold to do the same again. Unfortunately for Vitality, its jungler’s performance leaves much to be desired and Czajek is likely to be shut down by Fnatic’s roaming playing style before he can properly scale as a carry.
