Team Spirit slipped out of its spot as the top-ranked Counter-Strike team, but can it start climbing back with a win over Vitality in the BLAST Rivals Spring playoffs?
The BLAST Rivals Spring playoffs are absolutely stacked. Both of the semifinals are matches that could’ve been realistically pegged as the grand finals; including this showdown between arguably the two best teams in the game today. The trouble is that while this is a tantalizing match on paper, does it work out that way from a betting perspective?
Team Spirit and Team Vitality will play on May 3, 2025. The match is a best-of-three that is taking place as part of the BLAST Rivals Spring playoffs. This is a semifinals match, with the winner heading to the finals while the loser gets a $40,000 third-place prize.
Team Spirit returned to action in BLAST Rivals Spring after skipping IEM Melbourne and PGL Bucharest. It started strong by beating FlyQuest but was sent to the quarterfinals by Team Falcons. It rebounded by taking a decisive victory over Wildcard.
The Team Spirit roster includes these players:
Team Spirit has been great on Dust 2 and Nuke, while maintaining a strongly winning record on Anubis and Mirage. Its “worst” map is Ancient where it’s 4-3 in 2025. The team refuses to play on Inferno.
The Team Vitality winning streak continues through BLAST Rivals Spring. The team earned a direct semifinals berth with wins over Wildcard and MOUZ. It faces quite the stiff test here, though.
Vitality’s roster has been particularly strong in 2025, with its current lineup including these players:
Vitality is undefeated in 2025 on Inferno and Train, while going 10-2 on Dust 2 and Nuke. The squad has won two-thirds of its games on Mirage and Anubis. All this is to say that Vitality is really, really good. Also, it bans Ancient.
Vitality and Spirit have played twice in 2025, both of which came during Vitality’s lengthy winning streak. The first was Vitality winning the IEM Katowice 2025 finals with a 3-0 sweep, while the other happened in BLAST Open Spring, where Vitality won 2-1.
Team Vitality is a decided favorite against Team Spirit, with the lines standing at 1.46 against 2.7. The bookies are saying that this match isn’t a complete slam dunk for Vitality, but that the European squad is decidedly more likely to win.
Vitality should be able to get the victory over Team Spirit. This is a competitive match on paper but it’s basically impossible to doubt Vitality at this point. The team is on a 23-match winning streak and it doesn’t look like that’s stopping here.
