The first ESL Pro League Season 21 semifinal match has been set and Team Spirit is set to face off with MOUZ.
Not all ESL Pro League seasons are made equal, but 21 has been a real showcase of Counter-Strike’s best. That’s especially the case in the playoffs. There are no sure things, and these two teams got to experience that first-hand.
MOUZ came out on top of a slobberknocker with G2 Esports while Team Spirit took a 2-1 win over Eternal Fire that included a double overtime marathon. So what’s the word on their head-to-head matchup?
Team Spirit and MOUZ will play in the semifinals of the ESL Pro League Season 21 playoffs on March 15, 2025. The winner of the match will advance to the finals. On the opposite end of the bracket, Team Liquid vs Team Vitality and NaVi vs The MongolZ are booked to decide the other semifinal match.
Team Spirit has been very strong in recent months, and hasn’t had much trouble in ESL Pro League Season 21 thus far.
The team swept its way to the playoffs, going 2-0 in all its group stage matches. In the first round of the playoffs, Team Spirit defeated Eternal Fire in a highly competitive match. Spirit won the first map in double overtime but took its first map loss from there. Spirit closed things out strong with a 13-7 win.
Here is Team Spirit’s roster:
Team Spirit has a winning record on all maps, so there isn’t really anywhere that the team is bad. It has the lowest winrate on Mirage, and is at its best on Dust 2 and Nuke.
Hot off its win in PGL Cluj-Napoca, MOUZ has looked generally strong in ESL Pro League Season 21. MOUZ looked quite strong in the group stage, going 3-1 to advance. Its wins came over Furia, Team Falcons, and Team Liquid, while its loss came to Team Vitality. It advanced to the semifinals after taking a hard-fought 2-1 victory over G2 Esports.
Here is MOUZ’s roster in ESL Pro League Season 21:
MOUZ is at its best on Dust 2 and Nuke, and is roughly even everywhere else. In its recent history, MOUZ is at its weakest on Mirage, where it has a sub-50% winrate.
Across 2024 and 2025, MOUZ and Team Spirit have faced off five times. The record stands at 3-2 in Team Spirit’s favor. The last time they played was in the Shanghai Major in December 2024, which Team Spirit won 2-1.
Team Spirit is a 1.42 favorite against MOUZ in their ESL Pro League playoffs match. The moneyline for MOUZ currently stands at 2.83. This isn’t the most extreme line seen for Team Spirit, as Eternal Fire was around a 4.0 underdog, but it shows a lot of confidence in Spirit when it comes to the bookies’ expectations.
Team Spirit will likely be able to get the victory over MOUZ. MOUZ is looking strong and Spirit had some real trouble with Eternal Fire, but it’s hard to bet against Team Spirit.
