Team Spirit are expanding their presence in Dota 2 with the announcement of the Team Spirit Academy roster
The organization announced its new Dota 2 roster on Oct. 3 via social media. Alongside five Dota 2 players, Team Spirit also announced a coach, manager, and analyst for their team, giving them a full compliment of staff for the Academy roster.
Team Spirit already operates Academy rosters in Counter-Strike 2 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, but this is the first time the organization has expanded that into Dota 2. Academy rosters have been a staple of Dota 2 play, especially in the CIS region that Team Spirit often plays in. Natus Vincere (NAVI) and Virtus.Pro, key rivals of Team Spirit, frequently operate academy or junior rosters like this.
Team Spirit Academy’s roster is as follows:
Their coach will be “MeTTpuM” Gilev, the manager Semyon “Paradise” Volkov, and the analyst, Bakuri “baki_1014” Mortskulava.
Spirit has stated that the goal of its academy is primarily the development of young esports athletes.
“We don’t just train gifted players, but also help them become mature individuals. We strive to cultivate such values as mutual respect, teamwork, passion for the game, and determination to win.”
Team Spirit Academy’s first tournament is currently unknown, but many expect them to enter CCT Season 2 Series 6 where they’ll compete alongside fellow CIS academy-style rosters like NAVI Junior and VP.Prodigy.
