Team Nemesis acquires BOOM Esports, gains DreamLeague Season 27 spot

After a weekend of rumors, it’s been confirmed that Team Nemesis has purchased the roster of BOOM Esports, and will compete at DreamLeague Season 2. However, as per their announcement, Nemesis will only field one of the original BOOM players, with Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong playing in the offlane for the roster..

Team Nemesis announced their new lineup late on Dec. 8, via social media, confirming a new lineup rather than the BOOM Esports roster.

Team Nemesis picks up Boom Esports roster, but will only compete with Jabz

As early as Saturday (Dec. 6), it was rumored BOOM Esports would not be competing in DreamLeague Season 27, and instead their spot was likely being taken by Team Nemesis, either through acquisition, or forfeit.

These rumors were seemingly confirmed when on Dec. 8, BOOM Esports announced its departure from Dota 2 esports entirely, after a nine-year period. Hours later, and it was confirmed that Nemesis would be taking over BOOM Esports roster, and their DreamLeague S27 spot, albeit with a different roster. It’s speculated that the team likely wanted to compete with its own roster entirely, but due to rules within the ESL and DreamLeague events, would have to compete with at least one of the original roster.

Team Nemesis DreamLeague Season 27 Roster:

  • Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon
  • João Gabriel “4nalog” Giannini Santos
  • Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong
  • Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro
  • Ravdan “NARMAN” Narmandakh
  • Coach: Park “March” Tae-won

Team Nemesis’ new roster is a mixture of familiar Southeast Asian players, and South American middle lane talent 4nalog. The roster also seemingly still has three players from its previous organization under contract. If the whole of the former BOOM Esports roster are also under contract, that would mean Nemesis currently has almost two full rosters of talent under its banner.

DreamLeague Season 27 begins on Dec. 10, and will be the lineup’s first outing.
