Two matches are left in the EWC NA Qualifier to claim North America’s second seed in the Esports World Cup 2026. First, Team Liquid faces FlyQuest in the loser’s final. The winner of this match then goes up against Sentinels in the grand final and qualification match. Will TL claim their revenge against FLY?
Betting tip: Team Liquid has been on a rampage since their first loss. After three back-to-back 2-0s, they’re returning into this matchup as favorites.

The last time these two teams met, FLY took the win in a 2-1 where every game was a brawl. Since then, TLAW destroyed every opponent, with only a single game going above 30 minutes – by two minutes only. Those victories even included NA’s two best teams, LYON and Cloud9.
For long, Liquid has been hyped up as the scrim gods. TLAW beats everyone in scrims, yet they fail to translate that to results on stage. In the LCS, they lack the direction or even the assurance to achieve concrete results.
However, the EWC qualifiers happen to be online matches. Does that take away some of the pressure to make the series feel more like scrims? That’s certainly what the results would tell.
Additionally, Team Liquid’s head coach Jake “Spawn” Tiberi doesn’t live in North America. Spawn coaches them remotely while living in Australia, and assistant coach Samuel “Spookz” Broadley goes on stage in his stead. In scrims and remote matches like these qualifiers, Spawn is able to remain with the team during champ select.
Liquid has also looked better than usual in the LCS Spring Split so far. On the other hand, FlyQuest is fresh off a loss to Sentinels. Contrary to TLAW, they’ve also had a poor LCS split.
FLY has the youngest roster in the league, which was an exciting prospect for the scene. However, the promises of growth haven’t landed yet, and the team starts to crumble as they face high stakes for the first time.

Liquid is fresh off of stomping the two best teams in the league. With the level they’re currently showing, FlyQuest is no match for them, and they have the momentum with them.
