Team Liquid and FlyQuest have shaken out to be two of the biggest disappointments in Counter-Strike 2 this year, whether it’s CS2 betting or CS2 esports in general.

Both teams have a decidedly losing record, despite being based in some of Counter-Strike’s weaker regions. Neither team has won a tournament, or even made a grand finals. In fact, making it out of a tournament’s group stage has been the pinnacle of success for these teams in any interregional tournament.

Team Liquid tried to address this by dropping jks in favor of Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, filling a longstanding leadership void. After failing to clear the first group stage in the BLAST Austin Major, FlyQuest dropped Australian Counter-Strike stalwart Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas to pick up jks.

So far, Team Liquid hasn’t looked much better with siuhy with the team going winless in the major and stumbling since then. It remains to be seen whether FlyQuest is better off with jks but even if it is, it’s still unlikely that they’ll be able to bridge the gap.

Team Liquid hasn’t been particularly good on any map this year. It was close to even across most of them, but had a decidedly losing record on Dust 2, Nuke, and Mirage. They only map Liquid has a winning record on is Anubis, which is no longer in the active duty rotation.
FlyQuest is roughly even across most of the competitive map pool, except for having an ugly 5-9 record on Ancient and going 1-6 so far this year on Nuke.
Neither Liquid nor FlyQuest has had a true permaban this year, but both have actively avoided playing on Train.

jks over 15.5 kills on map 1/2 @ 2.31 – The early outlook on jks in FlyQuest is that he’s going to be able to put up lots of kills en route to a loss. It’s looking like he can put up these kinds of numbers, even in a loss.
Twistzz under 10.5 kills on map 1/2 @ 7.01 – This is a relatively high-risk line but there’s a lot of value on it. Since Liquid added Siuhy, Twistzz has gotten 10 or fewer kills in 10 out of Liquid’s 38 maps. Many of those have come recently and a number of them have come in Team Liquid wins.
