Team Liquid extend YEKINDAR loan

YEKINDAR

Team Liquid has extended the loan of Latvian star Mareks  “YEKINDAR” Galinskis, the organization has confirmed to HLTV. He will play with them at least for the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

The entry fragger, on loan from Virtus.pro, began his tenure at Team Liquid at IEM Cologne.

They were knocked out in 5th/6th place by Spanish team Movistar Riders, the best result in either teams’ season.

YEKINDAR is one of the most sought-after players in the world. The move originally came about due to him wanting to leave Virtus.pro due to the players now having to play under the ‘Outsiders’ banner thanks to the outbreak of war in Ukraine.

He also wishes to be on a team that can consistently challenge for trophies.

ESL

Team Liquid is arguably the most successful organization in North American CSGO history. They may not have won a Major, but their mini-era concluded with them becoming the second team to win an Intel Grand-Slam in Summer 2019.

It was a real coup for Liquid to get YEKINDAR even on loan, and it is believed the organization wishes to go further and sign him permanently. A deal is yet to be agreed with Virtus.pro, however.

If you wish to know more about YEKINDAR on Team Liquid, we did an interview with the team during IEM Cologne. Check it out!
