Team Heretics is putting together a G2 Esports reunion tour for its 2024 LEC roster and it’s anyone’s guess as to whether it will work.
Team Heretics has revealed its 2024 LEC roster. If the team looks familiar, it should. Fans have already seen different combinations of these same players shuffled across other teams. The full lineup includes:
Wunder, Jankos, and Perkz are reuniting for the first time since their departure from G2. The connections don’t end there, though. Kaiser and Perkz previously played together under Team Vitality. Flakked and Jankos played under G2 before reuniting on Team Heretics. The roster comes with built-in synergy that could be the key to Team Heretics’ success in its sophomore year in the LEC.
The enduring Spanish organization Team Heretics joined the LEC ahead of the 2023 competitive season after acquiring Misfits’ slot in the league. The team has been slowly improving since.
In the LEC Winter Season, Team Heretics finished in eighth place. In Spring, the team failed to advance to the group stage. In Summer, it claimed fourth place. Unfortunately, the team did not get enough Championship Points throughout the year to qualify for Worlds 2023.
2024 looks like a promising year for Team Heretics. A roster of high-profile players who are considered among the best in the region will bring new attention to the organization.
At the time of this publication, most teams in the LEC are yet to confirm their rosters for 2024.
Excel, Fnatic, and G2 Esports have retained their rosters and won’t be making any modifications for the time being. While Team Heretics made big changes to its LEC roster, other teams haven’t yet pulled the trigger on signings.
MAD Lions parted ways with bot laner Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság and mid-laner Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer, leaving two significant empty spots in its roster. Rogue is back in the LEC after dissolving its partnership with KOI. SK Gaming, Team BDS, and Team Vitality are all expected to make massive changes to their rosters.
Karmine Corp is the new team in the league for 2024. The French organization joins the LEC with an existing fanbase and something to prove. Karmine Corp made a name for itself in the LFL and the EMEA Masters. Now, the team is joining the big league where it must fight to keep its reputation. It is unclear if the team will modify its existing roster.
Karmine Corp has one final tournament to play, the Red Bull League of Its Own. The showmatch, hosted in Germany, will see the best teams in Europe going against current world champions T1. The Red Bull League of Its Own event is taking place on December 9.
