MSI 2025 had a handful of excellent matches that have had fans on the edge of their seats. From BLG’s disappointing run to Anyone’s Legends’ impressive international debut, from the LEC dropping hard to FlyQuest and CFO making inspired runs, everything has led to this grand final between T1 and Gen.G. While T1 hasn’t had the best recent history versus Gen.G, the question is if things will be different this time.
Betting tip: While T1 is likely to win the early section of at least some games, Gen.G’s consistency and strategic strength may help it edge out a close 3-2 series victory.
T1 may have started the year by struggling against most teams, but that isn’t the case anymore. The side has really picked up throughout the ongoing MSI tournament, though T1’s bot lane has arguably been the most impressive part of the squad. Gumayusi and Keria dominated Anyone’s Legend in the last series. Keria did an excellent job of feeding his ADC to ensure he could carry the team to victory.
Oner and Faker have also been showing up in each and every match, with their mid and jungler synergy shining every time. Doran is the team’s anomaly, since he sometimes plays well but fumbles in the laning phase in other games. Doran struggles to reliably get kills, even in games where the rest of his team is fed. While this worked against AL, Doran losing the top lane against Gen.G may significantly increase the team’s chances of losing.

Speaking of Gen.G, the team has been on an impressive winning streak. Winning 21 matches in a row, the team comfortably defeated some of the strongest League of Legends teams along the way. This includes T1, Anyone’s Legend, and Hanwha Life Esports. Kiin’s performance in the top lane is consistently impressive, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s able to catch Doran off guard to get some early laning phase kills.
Gen.G’s primary strategy revolves around Chovy and Canyon’s synergy. While Chovy and Faker have more experience battling on the domestic scene, both laners are close enough in skill to ensure the winner gets decided by a seeming coin toss. It’s more likely that the bottom lane will determine which team takes home the trophy. While Gumayusi’s last game against AL was extremely impressive, with the ADC going 15/0/12 and demolishing the enemy team as Jinx, Ruler’s Jinx was also a big reason for Gen.G winning the last match against T1.
Keria is an excellent initiator, but his champion pool is fairly limited. By contrast, Duro is less impressive in flash plays, but he’s more versatile when it comes to which champions he can play well enough to win at this highest of levels. The match going to the fifth map will likely increase Gen.G’s chances of success, as Duro will likely perform better with the broader champion field required by the fearless draft format.

Gen.G and T1 have faced off against each other 41 times. While the record was more balanced earlier this year, Gen.G now leads with 22 wins against T1 versus T1’s 19.
Anyone who has kept up with professional League of Legends will know that Gen.G is riding an impressive winning streak.
T1 has gathered its bearings after the team’s lackluster performance in the last LCK split and has been performing as well as expected here at MSI, despite a close loss to Gen.G.

Despite T1’s impressive wins against AL and BLG, Gen.G is seemingly on a different level currently, as the two teams’ recent matches against each other have shown. T1’s early game is extremely strong, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the team dominated the early phase of some games, or even every game. But while it’ll likely be a back-and-forth contest, Gen.G has a better chance of winning the match, primarily thanks to how the team is more balanced than is T1, which really relies on Gumayusi and Oner to carry.
Our Gen.G vs T1 pick: Gen.G as the match winner 3-2 at 1.57 odds at GG.BET.
