With the LCK sprint split slated to showcase T1 vs DRX, the odds seem to favor T1 over its opponent despite the shaky split T1 has had thus far.
The LCK 2025 tournament continues to pit some of the strongest League of Legends teams in Korea against each other. As it is with any tournament, some teams have persevered and showcased their talent by winning matches, while others have fallen short and seen defeat many times over. T1 is in a strange state between these extremes.
While it’s still in the top three of the league, the team struggled and even lost against teams it theoretically shouldn’t have. Thanks to this, and despite the current low ranking of DRX in the tournament, some may have doubts that the upcoming match going in T1’s favor.
Despite being one of the biggest names in the scene, T1 has displayed inconsistent performances in the LCK this year. While Oner has had one of his best splits yet, there seems to be some underlying issues with the team. The primary reason may be the fact that the team lost its long-time top laner, Zeus, but that isn’t all that’s going on here. The team’s ADC was getting swapped back and forth at the start of the tournament, and that also caused performance issues.
The team’s psyche has been brought into question, as the performance of its players has been shaky. Oner and Faker are the most consistent performers for T1, but the lack of overall synergy may have resulted in the team losing games it otherwise should have won.
On the other hand, DRX hasn’t had the best split either. The team has lost seven of the ten matches it played, and while DRX’s ADC and mid-laners have shown the skill and the ability to carry DRX into the playoffs, they’ve ultimately been too inconsistent. T1 and DRX faced off in the first week of the tournament when T1 was in more of a slump than it is currently, and DRX still saw a devastating 0-2 loss. It wouldn’t be farfetched to assume the same may happen here, especially considering DRX hasn’t made many meaningful changes to its playing style and tactics since.
Below are the rosters for both teams in the upcoming match.
T1:
DRX:
The fearless draft system ensures players can’t pick the same champion more than once in a single match. While the system is to have players diversify their picks, DRX still tends to go for a handful of predictable picks that players can expect to see. These picks include Ambessa, Vi, Naafiri, Xin Zhao, Corki, Miss Fortune, and Rell.
Then, there’s T1. Faker is known for being very skilled with Viktor, while Oner likes using Xin Zhao a lot, so these picks are fairly likely. Other common picks include Ambessa, Gwen, Sejuani, Ahri, Jhin, Miss Fortune, Rakan, Alistar, and Lulu.
T1 and DRX have had 25 matches against each other, of which DRX has only won five of those meetings. With 20 wins under T1’s belt, the team has long established an advantage against DRX.
Despite recent inconsistencies, T1 is still the favorite to win the upcoming match with a betting line of 1.08. By contrast, DRX’s 7.50 cements it as the underdog.
Despite the shaky performance of T1, the team’s individual talent level can’t be ignored. Looking at DRX’s many accumulated losses and the seeming talent gaps in many of them, Faker and Oner should be more than enough to get strong enough to carry their teams. DRX jungler Sponge hasn’t showcased much in the way of exceptional plays, while Oner has been a powerhouse recently and could take advantage.
T1 vs DRX is likely to go the same way the last match between the two teams went. Faker and ucal will likely be at a stalemate in the mid lane because ucal won’t want to give Faker a chance to snowball. Gumayusi will likely put heavy pressure on opposing ADC Teddy, potentially leading Teddy to make uncharacteristic mistakes as he has done multiple times recently.
