After a major upset in the third week of the LCK 2025 rounds 1-2 tournament, week eight will see T1 vs FEARX once again. With T1 in a much better place than the first time the two sides clashed, smart betters will want to know the likelihood of FEARX causing another upset.
The ongoing LCK split continues to near its end, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some highly anticipated matches still to come. While Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports have already established themselves as the strongest teams in the ongoing tournament, T1 still has much to prove thanks to its recent performance.
T1 came across FEARX in the current tournament’s third week and was the favorite to win by a landslide. However, FEARX created an upset, and the shocker is that it wasn’t even the biggest upset in the tournament involving T1. The two teams will face off again now, and the lingering question is whether the results will be any different than they were the first time.
While T1 has a spot in the top three and doesn’t have to fear elimination, the team’s still on shaky ground. Multiple underlying issues seem to be revolving around the side, stopping its members from performing to their best capabilities. While the Smash and Gumayusi issue is resolved, letting Gumayusi perform that much better since he’s in a more stable state of mind, the same can’t be said for top laner Doran.
Doran is the biggest anomaly in T1 currently. While he’s meant to replace Zeus, the fact is that Doran’s playing style is much different, which often results in the player unnecessarily feeding the opposition. A good example of this was in the first match against FEARX, where Doran picked Gwen and was outplayed by FEARX’s Jayce. The good news for T1 is that not all is lost. In addition to Gumayusi and Keria playing well recently, Faker and Oner have also showcased great synergy. Aside from the recent match against Gen.G, the bottom and mid lanes have performed well enough recently to set the pace for Oner to gank and acquire objectives from the jungle.
Then there’s FEARX. The team showcased excellent skill against T1, but hasn’t been able to recreate that since. The side is coming off three consecutive losses and will likely have a poor mental state because of that. FEARX’s bottom and top lanes show great potential, but the team’s primary issue is that it tends to go all in unnecessarily, resulting in the other team getting an advantage. The same may happen here against T1.
Below are the rosters for both teams:

FEARX:
T1, like most other top League of Legends teams, tends to go for experimental compositions when it’s confident it can win. However, considering how the last match between the two teams went, it wouldn’t be surprising if T1 opts to go for its strongest picks, including Ahri, Viktor, Orianna, Xin Zhao, Sejuani, Ambessa, Gwen, Jhin, Miss Fortune, Rakan, Alistar, and Lulu.
As for FEARX, it’ll want to recreate the previous upset and that will likely mean going for similar champions it picked against T1 last time. These picks include Jayce, Skarner, Ryze, Miss Fortune, Rell, Sion, Virgo, Ahri, Zeri, and Alistar. Rumble, Naafiri, Taliyah, Ezreal, and Leona are also champions FEARX commonly prioritizes.
T1 may be coming off a loss against powerhouse Gen.G, but the team was on a winning streak before that, as its last five matches show.
FEARX has had a bad time in the ongoing LCK. While the team won against T1 in the third week, FEARX’s other wins are against teams currently in the bottom three.
FEARX and T1 have faced off on the big stage five times. T1 has three wins under its belt, FEARX has only two. While T1 has an advantage going into the match, it isn’t by much.
While FEARX beat T1 the last time the two teams faced off, it’s still the underdog with a betting line of 4.40. The favorite to win is T1 with a line of 1.20, thanks in large part to the difference in recent match results of the two teams.
T1 has picked up a lot compared to how things were when it faced FEARX before, and that’ll definitely affect the rematch’s course. Smash replaced Gumayusi last time, and while Smash is a good ADC in his own right, he wasn’t able to properly contest against the more experienced Diable. Gumayusi playing for T1 this time will give the team’s bottom lane a much-needed boost, especially considering Gumayusi and Keria’s synergy.
Doran was outmatched by FEARX last time, but he’s shown some improvement since then. Faker and Oner have also started playing more patiently, opting to wait for opportunities to come instead of needlessly initiating. Considering FEARX’s habit of unnecessarily going all in, the strategy change may work out in T1’s favor and let its players snowball the advantage into a win.
