T1 recently announced re-signing their entire Dota 2 roster for the next DPC season.
After their maiden run at The International 10, T1 has chosen to reprise their faith on the squad helmed by Park “March” Tae-won and Carlo “Kuku” Palad.
Joe Marsh, T1 CEO, and Kuku, Dota 2 Captain, were kind enough to share their thoughts on the resigning of the entire roster.
After a magical first trip to TI, we wanted to make sure we could build on the momentum and bring the whole team back. Luckily for us we were able to do so and came to terms with all the players before we left Romania. March has built a great atmosphere and our captain, Kuku has done a great job leading the team all year long. 23 Savage is a player that I’ve long admired in the Dota scene and he was the missing link for us to go on our run to TI this year. The most important part of our success however was the growth and improvement of Karl, Whitemon, and Xepher. Each player works so well together and they have so much fun and camaraderie. Having that type of fun atmosphere, even in stressful teams, helps our team stay focused and ready to compete. The unsung heroes of all of our success were our team managers and our analysts – behind the scenes but doing the very important work to make sure T1 is ready to compete. What impressed me most this year was the resilience of our players. We were notoriously slow starters this year, but when we got our momentum, we were one of the best teams in the world and feel like we can beat anyone. For this upcoming season, we will look for a permanent boot camp home in SEA (Philippines, Indonesia, or Singapore) and we hope that this will allow us to continue to build chemistry and perform well in our region and make another run at TI 11!Carlo “Kuku” Palad
I feel excited and happy for next season
Here’s hoping that T1 has a successful run next DPC season.
