Spider Solitaire 2 Suits follows the same approach as the standard single-suit variant. But this time, you’ll have to form stacks with two suits (red and black). Each stack must contain cards from one suit before the game removes them.
The Spider Solitaire 2 Suits is considered more difficult than the standard version of one suit. Nonetheless, you can still win with practice and the right strategy. For that reason, I’ll explain how to play it, show you where to play it for free, and also include some strategies you can use in the game.
Once launched, you’ll find three major sections in the game. The play area has columns along a tableau with a stack of cards below it. Then, you have the foundation pile above or below the play area, depending on the site and game provider.
The columns will have 54 cards in total, with the first four columns having six cards each. Thirty cards are distributed evenly among the remaining six columns, each getting five cards. The stockpile holds 50 cards, ready to distribute 10 cards when you draw.
For the distribution, the cards drawn from the stockpile will be distributed randomly across all the columns. They will be placed face up, whether you have face-up cards in the column or not. Note, however, that you can only draw cards from the stockpile if you have cards in all your columns. If there’s an empty column, simply move one or a group of cards there before drawing from the stockpile.
Unlike the standard Spider Solitaire game, where all the cards are from one suit, the 2-suit Spider Solitaire splits the cards evenly into two suits. You’ll get 52 cards in each suit, all randomly distributed in the columns and the stockpile.
You’ll have the option to undo your moves when playing the game on most sites. This option can help you retrace your steps or try out another approach. To use it, simply click the undo button when playing. The button is typically below the play area when you load the Spider Solitaire 2 Suits full-screen mode.
The simple goal of the game is to form eight stacks from all 104 cards before running out of moves. You’ll do that by arranging the cards in the columns to form a stack. The sequence for each stack is the King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and the Ace.
Once a stack is complete, the game will move the stack to the foundation pile. As such, you’ll have fewer cards left to form the remaining stacks.
Like other Casino Solitaire games, the 2-suit version will end if you run out of moves and there are no more cards in the stockpile to draw from. You’ll have to start the next round.
Once you load the game, you’ll have a single face-up card on each column. From there, you can only perform two primary actions. The first one is moving cards from one column to another as you build a stack. You can move a single or multiple cards, but specific rules govern those movements.
The second action is drawing cards from the stockpile. This action, too, has a rule, which is ensuring that no column is empty before drawing the cards. As for the card movements among the columns, here are the rules that apply in the 2 Suit Spider Solitaire:
You can move a card on top of another card – this other card must rank above the card moved. This movement is possible irrespective of the suit. An example is moving a red ace over a black 1.
While it isn’t necessary to match the suits when moving single cards, you still have to consider the move thoroughly. My recommendation is to find a card with a matching suit first. Only move to a different suit if you cannot find one.
The Spider Solitaire Two Suits game allows players to move multiple cards when the following conditions are met:
Like the single card movement, you can move your unit (group of cards) onto another card with a higher rank. The suit of both cards does not matter for this move.
The game only recognizes a stack formed from cards of the same suit. Nonetheless, you can have more than one stack in one column. If that happens, you will only be able to move the lower stack to unlock the upper stack.
You can move single or multiple cards to empty columns. However, note that the rule for moving multiple cards will also apply in this case.
The game allows you to draw from the stockpile at any time. You don’t have to wait until you run out of moves before drawing the cards.
Playing the game is easy. You only have to:
One way to get the free Solitaire gameplay is by trying the demo version on gaming sites that offer the game. These sites may or may not require you to register before accessing the game. While that is okay, I prefer to play the game as a registered sweepstakes casino member.
Sweepstakes gaming sites not only allow you to play for free, but they also provide Sweepstakes Coins, which you can play through and redeem for real prizes. Note that you must have at least a specific number of SCs before you can make a request.
When you do make a request, you might be able to choose one of the following:
🏆 Prize Types | 📖 Description |
---|---|
Gift cards | The sweepstakes casino will provide a list of supported gift cards. Pick one, and you’ll receive a code or the card loaded with the exact value of your redeemed SCs. |
Cash prizes | For this approach, the site will provide the cash prize equivalent of the Sweepstakes Coin winnings you redeemed. |
As mentioned, you can’t play Solitaire to win real money at sweepstakes casinos. But you can meet the necessary playthrough conditions and still get prizes. Plus, these platforms are legal in most US states, and this has allowed more operators to establish themselves in the country. After checking out several of these sweepstakes gaming platforms, Real Prize, Stake.us, McLuck, MegaBonanza, and Jackpota ranked at the top of my list.
Keep in mind that Spider Solitaire 2 is not quite common, but there are many other games and features to enjoy on these social sites. Here are more details about my top picks:
Real Prize features over 500 Vegas-style social casino games. These aren’t slots alone, as the site has bingo, video poker, scratch games, and jackpots, all of which are great alternatives to Spider Solitaire 2. All the games are playable with the site’s Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins.
You’ll get 100,000 Gold Coins and 2 SCs as a bonus when you register. Besides that, you’ll also receive free daily bonus coins that increase as you level up in the VIP program. All the SCs received from these bonuses are redeemable for real prizes, provided you meet the 1x playthrough requirement and the 100 SC minimum balance.
Enter the bonus code JAXONSOCIAL when signing up at Stake.us, and you’ll receive 560k Gold Coins, 56 Stake Cash, and a 5% rakeback bonus. You can use this bonus to play the sweepstakes casino games on the site, including Solitaire and its variations.
There’s a daily bonus just for logging in, and to add to that, Stake.us offers daily races, weekly raffles, and even a birthday bonus. The daily races are challenges where you play games to climb the leaderboard. The higher you rank, the better your share of the prize pool for the day.
With McLuck, you’ll receive 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins when you sign up with the bonus code JAXONMCLUCK. This offer is one of the several bonuses available for you to use when playing Spider Solitaire 2 Suits or its variants and other games on the site. The other bonuses include daily login bonus coins, four jackpots on selected games, and rewards from the loyalty club.
As for the games, McLucks features Sweepstakes slots with diverse themes like pirates, animals, Ancient Egypt, Norse mythology, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and the Wild West. Besides this, there are table games, instant win options, and live dealer titles.
The MegaBonanza sign-up bonus is 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweepstakes Coins. It offers other free promotions, but it stands out with its mega jackpots. These run hourly and daily and can be triggered in any game and on any spin.
Speaking of games besides the free Spider Solitaire 2 Suits, the site features slots, with an exclusive section for Pragmatic Play jackpot play. You can play these games and more on the website or mobile app.
Jackpota offers 7,500 Gold Coins when you sign up on the site. Complete the verification process, and you’ll receive an additional 2.5 Sweeps Coins to play games. There is also a purchase deal for those who want to purchase Gold Coins. But that is not necessary to play on the site, as you’ll receive bonuses for free gaming sessions.
As for the games, Jackpota has over 700 of them, all casino-style options. These include slots from Pragmatic Play, 3 Oaks, Playson, and other notable providers; social casino games; and jackpot plays. The social casino games include roulette variants, game shows, and Sic Bo.
To get the most out of your free Spider Solitaire 2 Suits gameplay on my recommended sites, here are a few things you should do:
Even though you can create a mixed-suit stack, doing so might end up locking valuable cards that could complete stacks elsewhere. Focus, instead, on building single-suit stacks.
Go for moves that reveal cards. That could mean moving single cards from columns or moving a group of cards to reveal the next card in the column. Revealing cards early can increase your chances, as they’ll help you hold off on drawing cards too early.
With empty columns, you can move cards from other columns to either reveal more cards or unlock cards for a stack. Once you have an empty column, focus on moving a King to that column. That way, you can start creating another stack quickly.
Keep the following pros and cons in mind before playing this game:
The Spider Solitaire 2 Suits is much more difficult than the standard single-suit version. It also has a lower winning probability, so you’ll have to be more strategic when playing it. I recommended this game to intermediate and expert players. As for beginners, I recommend practicing and sharpening your strategies with free gameplay on the recommended sites.
Only draw when you cannot make any more moves. Even so, ensure you get as many matching cards in a stack as possible before you draw from the stockpile.
You can apply a few strategies to increase your chances of winning. One such strategy is to avoid creating mixed-suit stacks.
Yes, you can play the game for free at sweepstakes casinos. Ensure you use a reputable platform.
