One of the best features of this game I think is the boss battles. At random intervals you will get special monsters that appear and these are where the biggest prizes are usually obtained. For example, there is the golden mammoth that is pulling a cart of gold bars behind it. Alternatively, there is a T-Rex and King Kong, and if these appear at the same time it triggers a special mini game where they fight each other!
You may not notice immediately, but Mecha Jaeger can actually be a multiplayer game with up to four players battling at once. When you’ve got more than one person playing, the action becomes insane and it can be difficult to tell what is happening! The only thing you have to be aware of is that if the game is populated with AI players, their shots will not contribute to your score, but I think they can help you destroy the monsters.
Not only are there boss battles, but many of the monsters have special effects. For example, you will often see dinosaurs moving across the screen that have a energy icon above them – destroy these and it increases the chance that the ultimate Mecha Jaeger boss will appear.
