For anyone looking for a play-for-free poker platform, ClubGG is a tempting option. In this ClubGG review I’ll take you through everything they have to offer, so you’ll know if it’s worth signing up.
You can play for free with friends or purchase an optional subscription that gets you into tournaments, and offers additional benefits like access to classes to improve your game. The apps for Windows, Android and iOS are up there with the best I’ve seen, and the only bad news is the complete lack of promotions.

My first impressions of ClubGG were very favorable, as this is a well put together poker site. This made the fact that there was no ClubGG sign up bonus all the more odd. Of course I looked closer, and while I could find no explanation why there was nothing for new players, I did find excellent free to play poker software that is bound to attract a lot of players. Here you can join an existing club or set up your own, it’s all self-contained, and incredibly customizable. So it’s easy to see the appeal here.
If you want to take part in tournaments though, a subscription is required, and while you can request a free one via mail, this is where I think ClubGG sweeps poker have missed a trick. They could have offered some free tournament tickets to new players, or perhaps a trial or discounted subscription, as this would have been a very attractive offer. As things stand, I’m sure I won’t be the only person who is disappointed.
If the lack of bonus lowered my ClubGG ratings for the USA, then the site itself put things right back on track. To play on your laptop you’ll need to download the Windows 10 app and complete the ClubGG register screen, something I found easy despite not being entirely tech savvy.
For that reason, I’ll also add the caveat that if you use a different operating system you’ll have to check the small print for compatibility. Once I’d fired it up and got past the ClubGG login screen, I was greeted by an easy to navigate app that had no glitches or problems, whether I was allocating the chips in my poker club, or checking out the tournaments. My account details and help were just a click away, so I’d class ClubGG as being ideal for newbies as well as the older hands out there.
My next step was to check out the mobile apps, and these are pretty special as well. First of all the basics – they can be downloaded from your regular app store and you’ll be good to go in a couple of minutes. I registered on my laptop but you could do it just as easily here, as the mobile apps have all the features of the Windows one, just adjusted slightly for the smaller screen as well as all the options at the bottom. Again navigation is a breeze and you won’t be surprised the layout is straightforward, meaning you can switch between your laptop and your phone easily to carry on a game on the move.
Right at the top of this ClubGG review, I mentioned that most of the benefits were aimed at subscribers. Being a sweepstakes poker platform you naturally have the option to play for absolutely free at ClubGG. However, should you opt to purchase a subscription based membership, you can do so via multiple channels and take advantage of a host of different benefits.
While you have no withdrawals or deposit, you can buy subscriptions the same way you would pay for an app. You can also request a free 30 day membership via mail, but if you want to get those benefits right away you have two purchase options:
$9.99 per month giving you one 1st Stage ticket a day, and access to GGClass and GGStore
$49.99 a month but you’ll get unlimited 1st Stage entries and final stage reentry as well as a loyalty bonus and all the Standard membership benefits.
Clearly the Platinum gets you more, but it’s completely up to you if and what type of subscription you want to purchase.

If you have a problem with a subscription purchase, or for that matter anything else, help is at hand. I was expecting, given how slick the rest of ClubGG is, to see live chat – but this option just lets you leave a ticket.
This isn’t bad news as support got back to me quickly, with their customer service representative providing me with an answer, though I did need to ask for some clarification as the information given was a bit too general. I could also have used the help center, but this does appear to be a work in progress. While some areas are detailed and expansive, others are not populated at all. So overall, some mixed feelings here but the fact I had to think of something to ask support just to check it out probably means there aren’t too many problems.

There certainly aren’t any problems with the trustworthiness, as I found ClubGG reliable and found absolutely no red flags that suggest a ClubGG scam. This came as no surprise, as ClubGG are part of GGPoker, who have a solid reputation for fairness and the resources to ensure that security is high.
No license is needed, but you’ll have to meet KYC requirements before you can redeem any L$ won through tournaments or make any purchases. In addition, Georgia, Hawaii, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota and Washington can’t redeem L$ or subscribe, but they can play for free with friends if they wish.
As there are no promotions at all here, my attention inevitably turned to the subscriber benefits. I listed them before, but I should go into more detail so you can get a better idea of their value to you.
If you join ClubGG, there’s no real money used there. It’s a sweeps poker site where you can win L$ through tournaments, which can be redeemed for real world prizes like gift cards when other criteria are met.
If you’re new or had a bad experience before, you’re bound to have doubts about any new site you come across. You’ll have no problems here, as ClubGG is part of GGPOker which has a good reputation and the resources available to ensure ClubGG is secure and safe.
ClubGG works via app only, whether it be Windows 10 for your laptop or Android and iOS for your phone. They all work well, and are available to download from the approved app stores.
If you just want to play poker with your friends for fun, ClubGG has got it all and I can’t sing its praises highly enough. The app is easy to use and is the main source of any high ClubGG ratings.
Once you look at the subscriber benefits, well, it’s easy to see why I might give this a glowing recommendation, but there is one bit of bad news I need to mention before I close off my ClubGG review. As good as all of this is, there’s no ignoring the fact this could have been so much better if only there had been a welcome bonus as well, something I hope ClubGG reviews and rectifies soon.

If your only previous experience of sweepstakes operations is a casino with a host of different games, then you need to be aware this is something different entirely. Here, you just have a choice between
Or if you are a subscriber, you can also unlock Rabbit Hunt, Splash and River Card Squeeze as well.
If you are playing with friends, this is fully customisable and you can play as much as you want. As this is standalone, you won’t be able to play in tournaments. To do this, you’ll need to purchase a subscription based membership. I’ll explain more below.
Tournament tickets come in three types, 1st Stage, 2nd Stage and Final Stage, and as the name suggests get you in at different levels of a tournament.
As a Standard subscriber, you’ll get one 1st Stage ticket a day, and there’s unlimited tickets for a Platinum subscriber. Success at the final stage could win you some L$, the main virtual currency here. These can be redeemed for gift cards and other prizes, provided you have at least 20 of them sitting in your account, and have passed KYC checks first.
If you are just playing socially with friends, you will also have chips. These operate in the same way using matchsticks might if you were playing with those same friends in the real world. Chips are all free and you control and issue as many as you want, so ending up with the most at the end of a game in your own poker club will only win you bragging rights.
At first glance, I thought ClubGG had every base covered. Then I was worried that with only a couple of formats and all those different tokens, they would leave players either confused or frustrated. After carrying out this ClubGG review though, I can confirm that they have the balance right and you’ll have a great experience playing here if you sign-up.
