FGO’s seventh summer event just keeps dropping meta-changing swimsuit servants, and summer Ibuki looks to be a headliner.

This summer is an exciting time to be a gacha player. While players have been exploring the Arctic Summer World event, renovating different areas and helping managers increase sales, they have met a wide cast of colorful characters and a range of different attractions. One of these areas, the Hawaiian Genji waterpark, had an incident with a certain oni turning their water to lava. This oni-cheerleader-goddess just also happens to be one of the best arts loopers in the game.

Berserker Ibuki-Douji abilities and release date

As Summer 7 of Fate/Grand Order rolls on, the release date of the second event banner with summer Ibuki-Douji drops at 12 am EST on July 22, 2024.

Ibuki-Douji, previously of saber-class fame, joins the summer cast as a heavy-hitting 5-star berserker with an area-of-effect arts Noble Phantasm, putting her in league with berserker Musashi Miyamoto. Unlike Musashi, Ibuki-Douji comes with an exceptional 50% NP battery skill. That, along with her other skills and NP hits, put her in a tier of her own when it comes to farming, where she will remain unchallenged for quite a while.

Berserker Ibuki-Douji’s skills are straightforward and hard-hitting, which makes her exactly the weapon she wants to be.

Midsummer Goddess B – increase party attack and critical strength, plus an extra bonus to NP gain for summer allies
Summer Cheerleader C – increase arts and buster damage and decrease skill cooldown by one for the party
Beach Apocalypse A+ – 50% NP battery with some critical stars and star gather rate
Noble Phantasm – Arts area-of-effect attack that removes all defensive buffs before damage, and deals extra damage to earth-attribute enemies

How to use summer Ibuki-Douji

Summer Ibuki-Douji should find a solid place in the arts-looping core and may find a place with free-to-play teams.

Berserker Ibuki-Douji works perfectly in a double Castoria team for farming, but since Castoria is a limited 5-star, not everyone will have a copy. That’s where the recently-released 3-star Xu Fu comes in, acting as a free-to-play-friendly Castoria. Additionally, with some defensive support, Ibuki-Douji can deal big damage in challenge quests.

For the players who are low on Saint Quartz, whether or not they summon for Berserker Ibuki-Douji may be a tough call. After all, Ruler Skadi is also on the horizon, bringing the quick renaissance with her. They can always play as Ibuki-Douji in Fate/Samurai Remnant if all else fails.
