Evil Geniuses player and in-game leader Jake “Stewie2K” Yip has publically fallen out with the organization’s former assistant coach, Paolo “EVY” Berbudeau. At the center of the discussion is an interview the latter gave to 1PV.fr, in which he alleges that much of the problems facing the EG lineup stem from Stewie2K’s role as the IGL.
The interview paints a bleak picture of the roster, of which EVY was the assistant for six months. He says that Stewie became hostile against the head coach, Damien “MaLeK” Marcel, early on and refused to recognize his authority.
This split up the team into several camps, eventually leading to the removal of MaLeK and his assistant.
After the interview garnered some attention, Stewie2k decided to respond to EVY.
On Twitter, the former Major winner said, “There are always two sides to every story, but wow, this is another level of twisted and overly dramatic story to make me look THAT bad.”
There are always two sides to every story, but wow this is another level of twisted and overly dramatic story to make me look THAT bad. “clenched fist” i don’t even remember having any conversations like that with YOU.
He admits to some level of fault, saying he does “take accountability for acting on some of my frustrations,” but alleges EVY is portraying him worse than reality.
Both EVY and Stewie2k joined Evil Geniuses at the start of the year but struggled to find success. EVY was removed in May, while Stewie2k became part of the new 15-man roster.
