Matt “StaySafeTV” Morse has received his second Twitch ban in the last 30 days, and he’s had it. Taking to X, the streamer has announced his move to Kick.
StaySafeTV may have risen to fame with Warzone streams alongside names like Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt and Tim “EsfandTV” Esfandiari, but his recent content on Twitch has deviated more towards politics and social commentary. His most recent ban came in September after his feud with Twitch streamer Ziqo, who shared StaySafeTV’s controversial record of alleged bigotry from 2017. The exact reason, however, remained a mystery.
Now, a month later, he found himself in the same spot. On October 22, StaySafeTV took to X to confirm that he’s been unfairly banned. The controversial streamer called out Twitch for “lack of transparency” for banning him twice in five weeks.
StaySafeTV has decided to leave Twitch for Kick after getting banned twice in one month. According to him, Twitch is not a “viable long-term primary streaming platform.”
In a lengthy post, StaySafeTV accused Twitch of banning him purely because some individuals working at Twitch have different ideological views. According to him, these people are leveraging their position to suspend streamers who have opposing views. For all these reasons, StaySafeTV has decided to move to Kick.
“I have a wife, two kids, bills I need to pay – and I am not going to put the financial well-being of my family in the hands of these people. It is for all of these reasons that I have decided it is best for me to move the majority of my daily livestreams to Kick,” said StaySafeTV.
While certainly less controversial than other controversial streamers, StaySafeTV’s content can certainly not be described as “without a blemish.” He was banned on Twitch in 2020 for watching elections live. It was a copyright strike, but a strike nonetheless. While the majority of StaySafeTV’s content still revolves around gaming, the recent Morgan “fr0gan” and Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt discourse was pretty evident in his streams and X account. The stream justified the latter’s views regarding Western culture being superior and called for fr0gan’s ban for wishing PTSD on American veterans.
Twitch hasn’t yet responded with an exact reason for his ban, but according to a screenshot shared by the streamer, he’s in timeout for “hateful conduct.”
