Though it has since quieted, there was a moment when the Star Wars Battlefront 3 petition was really gaining steam. This movement was very real, with comment sections on every single possible unrelated post on social media being filled with calls for the third game. Those calls began years ago when Battlefront 2 got much better thanks to updates, but the studio and developers ignored them. The hope was that this time, they’d be forced to listen to such a loud cry, and loud it certainly was.
As of yet, the Star Wars Battlefront series has yet to get a third game. The original series that began in 2004 also had a hit sequel. It was so good that fans desperately hoped and pleaded for a third game. They had no such luck.
Eventually, in 2015, the series was rebooted. The first game was a success. The second game wasn’t until it had a Cyberpunk 2077-like revival. It eventually became a hit, and is now experiencing a massive surge. Just in June, the game reportedly saw a 218% increase on Steam according to Destructoid.
That prompted a legitimate petition for the developers to make a third game. The petition on Change.org reached over 12,000 signatures during the height of the resurgence. Even today, it has over 17,000 verified signatures, meaning it’s still gained 5,000 in less than two months. The calls may have slightly quieted, but they have not gone away.

No matter what happens with a theoretical third game or the petition, what won’t ever change is that fans want more. They’ve been all over social media asking for it. Even now, some comments sections still have a few sparing people bringing up Battlefront 3. Reddit is full of it, too. In fact, it got so bad, that one mod in the r/StarWarsBattlefront subreddit had to restrict posts about it, saying:
“We have noticed a lot of complaints when it comes to posts about Battlefront 3. We would like to announce that we will be stricter with these posts due to all of the complaints. Please report any posts and we will have them removed to prevent flooding of the subreddit of the same topic.”

No matter what, fans have devoted themselves to this cause. Unfortunately, it might not do anything. Petitions have come up before to no avail. DICE, the developers, appear much more focused on Battlefield 6 right now, a trending gaming news topic. Sadly, since games take a while to make, the hype will likely die off for Battlefront 3 before they could even really consider making it.
