Sony’s PlayStation sets up new mobile gaming division

PlayStation IPs may soon be coming to mobile as Sony has set up a new PlayStation Studios Mobile Division.

The new mobile division was announced along with the news that Sony is acquiring Savage Game Studios, a mobile game development company that was founded in 2020.

While Savage Game Studios doesn’t have any published games yet, it includes veteran developers from the likes of Rockstar and Rovio.

Savage Game Studios will be a part of the PlayStation Studios' mobile gaming division.

Savage Game Studios will become a part of the PlayStation Mobile Division. The new division will operate independently from the console development team.

I hope you’ll join me in welcoming Savage Game Studios into the fold, and that those of you who enjoy mobile gaming in addition to console or PC will look forward to what they have in store.

Herman Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios.

Sony assured its players that its new efforts on mobile games will not get in the way of its commitment to the community which plays on the PlayStation consoles.

The PlayStation Mobile Division will focus on bringing new and existing PlayStation IPs to mobile.

As of now, Savage Game Studios is working on an unannounced AAA mobile live service action game.
