Swiss CS2 caster Mathieu “Maniac” Quiquerez is facing serious allegations after an esports journalist accused him of sexual assault through social media.
Mathieu “Maniac” Quiquerez is a retired Counter-Strike player and is currently a streamer and broadcast analyst. He is famous for his strategic gameplay and in-depth analysis thanks to his experience with the game. Maniac has come under fire recently due to a serious allegation placed on him during ESL Pro League Season 20.
Freelance journalist Hannah Marie ZT has accused Maniac of sexual assault. While the claims are unconfirmed, here’s all we know right now.
Esports journalist Hannah Marie ZT has raised sexual assault allegations against CS2 caster Maniac from an afterparty at BLAST Premier Spring Final.
In the post, Hannah Marie ZT alleged that Maniac groped and inappropriately touched her even after she reacted with discomfort. Hannah further claimed that this assault went on from approximately 11 pm till the party ended at 2 am.
The journalist further stated that this alleged incident occurred at a tournament afterparty and she reported the incident to the relevant company. Hannah claimed that she reached out to the unnamed company for an update and revealed that their investigation had been completed. She claimed that the company upheld her allegations.
Hannah said that when she asked for a written confirmation, the company accidentally looped her into an email where they admitted to ignoring her requests for a written confirmation. She elaborated that she is posting publicly to protect other victims from harm.
Maniac made a response post on X refuting the sexual assault allegations.
In his response, Quiquerez claimed to have a completely different recollection of the events of the night in question. Maniac stated that he arrived at the party at 12:30 am and had the Uber receipts to prove it. He further claimed that he wasn’t at the dance floor before 12:45 AM.
While the broadcaster agreed there was some flirting, he claimed he thought it was consensual. He further claimed they were dancing near other people. Mathieu said if he missed the hints that his flirting wasn’t welcome then that was his only fault. Furthermore, Maniac stated while he disagrees with the validity of the events he can’t question someone’s experience.
However, Maniac claimed that the allegations of sexual assault were entirely wrong. Still, Maniac has excused himself from the rest of ESL Pro League Season 20, as he doesn’t want to distract the audience from the gameplay.
