The second week of the group stage of VCT Americas Stage 1 has started off with a bang. One of the matches with quite a bit of talk of the town this week is the fixture between Sentinels and 100 Thieves. Two juggernauts in the esports ecosystem are facing off once again this season!
The last time 100 Thieves faced off against Sentinels was during VCT Americas Kickoff 2026. In the middle bracket, 100 Thieves secured the victory with a 2-0 scoreline.
This loss resulted in Sentinels not making it to VALORANT Masters Santiago. The organization made quite a few changes to its roster as well.
Sadly, during week one, we saw no difference as Sentinels lost in their first match against KRU Esports.
On the other hand, 100 Thieves reached close to the lower bracket finals in the previous competitions. Last week, during VCT Americas Stage 1 2026, they won their match against Evil Geniuses with a 2-0 scoreline. This was quite the dominant performance by the team.
Due to this, they currently sit on top of the table in Group Omega. One player that has had quite the entrance is the new primary duelist for 100 Thieves, Timothée “Timotino” Dupont.
In the VCT 2026 season, the duelist has been able to average an ACS of 280, which is the highest in VCT Americas.
Interestingly, the betting websites tell quite a similar story as we have seen concerning the discussions within the community. The two-time VALORANT Masters winners, Sentinels, simply look like a shell of their past selves. It does feel like the team has lost a lot of its identity this season.
Another factor that isn’t working in the favour of Sentinels is that they have a stand-in currently. “Victor” Wong joined the roster for this tournament as Sentinels are a player down following the departure of N4rrate.
100 Thieves dominated on pistol rounds in their prior match, winning 3 out of 4 rounds played. Due to this victory, they could control their economy, which helped them secure the win.
If we see the maps of Breeze or Haven, there is a very high possibility that those maps will end quickly in favor of 100 Thieves.
Our prediction for this match is a 2-0 victory for 100 Thieves against Sentinels. The only win condition for Sentinels is if they get the win on the first map.
During the VCT 2026 season, we haven’t seen 100 Thieves be able to complete a reverse sweep after going a map down.
