VALORANT’s rostermania following the announcement of VCT 2023 is well underway, are Sentinels the next team to announce big changes? According to a report by Dot Esports, big changes will soon be on the way for the North American organization.
Other teams within the Americas region are already growing stronger. 100 Thieves have signed Cryo from XSET, while Cloud9 looks close to bringing in the best player in the world, yay. Sentinels will need to make changes in order to keep up, they already only have three players on their roster: ShahZaM, TenZ, and SicK.
Two of these players could be on the way out, however. Both in-game leader ShahZaM and star player TenZ’s contracts are due to expire at the end of the year. While it is expected that the organization will enter contract re-negotiations with TenZ, who is one of the best players in the world, ShahZaM could be let go as part of the rebuild process. TenZ took some of ShahZaM’s roles following his signing in the wake of the sinatraa drama
ShahZaM’s contract could be allowed to expire following the signing of new coaches for the team, who are reportedly eyeing up a new in-game leader. While it is unclear who that IGL may be, both dephh and FNS are available following XSET and OpTic’s failure to make VCT 2023.
Sentinels are set to compete as part of VCT Americas 2023, but will first be seen in the kick-off tournament in Sao Paulo at the beginning of 2023.
