While C9 has a slight lead, the two teams will duke it out to determine which qualifies for the playoffs first. Unfortunately for Sentinels, this isn’t the norm. The team’s IGL johnqt usually plays roam, leaving the task of holding down the site to Zellsis. Considering Zellsis is much better as a roaming initiator, he isn’t able to perform to the best of his capabilities within the team’s current framework, creating a recent misconception that he’s not the player he once was.
While Zellsis got to play picks he’s comfortable with like Breach and Killjoy against Furia, Sentinels’ habit of reverting his role could again lead to its defeat here.
Cloud9’s recent performance has been poor relative to its competition. The team failed to qualify for any Masters events and was quickly eliminated in the 2025 Esports World Cup qualifiers. The good news is that C9’s looking much better in the current group stage, with OXY being a clear stand-out for the side. The duelist’s entry kills and overall aggressive playing style set up the stage for his team against EG and Furia. While he often folds under pressure when the stakes are highest, his performance in group stage matches is consistently excellent.
Cloud9 compensates for its general lack of mechanical skills through strong tactics. A good example of this is how the team continued to switch its agent picks up against EG and Furia, all while ensuring its players didn’t overcommit. Xeppaa and v1c are both strong players who have high fragging potential. By contrast, mitch’s utility usage is excellent for supporting the team. neT is C9’s biggest weakness as he lacks the versatility to play much beyond Viper, and his passive style makes him an easy pick for an aggressive team like Sentinels.
