One of the oldest champions in League of Legends, Teemo, is getting a full visual rework, and splash art for some of the skin changes have already been released.
Teemo is a yordle that may look like a fuzzy and cheery scout, but is actually a deadly assassin. He was first introduced in the game’s alpha and became part of the official roster at the beginning of 2009. Now, 15 years later, Teemo is getting his first big rework, which will largely focus on visuals.
Here’s what to expect in Teemo’s upcoming rework.
Teemo will be getting a skin rework as part of the art and sustainability update that’s coming out on October 9, 2024 along with the rest of Patch 14.20.
The visual changes for Teemo were initially announced at the start of 2024, but now the images have been shared on League of Legends’ official Weibo account. Teemo will be a bit leaner and longer, with extended limbs and more height. Concept artist Megan “Ze Ocelot” O’Rourke said in a sneak peak blog that he’ll still be “round” and “fluffy” like a yordle. He will also have many more expressions. She also noted that his current skins will be reimagined.
Here are the new versions of Teemo’s skins, shared on Weibo by the League of Legends account.
Teemo’s other skins will also get updates, although a bit more subtle. The more complete reworks will have an increased price of 750 RP once the update goes live.
On top of getting new skins and a new appearance, Teemo is also getting an update to his lore. Originally, Teemo was said to be a kind soul, but would take on a violent personality in combat, losing all emotions when fighting enemies. In the update, Teemo will be known as warm and helpful, removing the concept that Bandle Scouts are militant and strict.
“Our modern Teemo is very much a scout troop leader, and making that clear makes his relationship to Runeterra a lot clearer too,” narrative writer River “Riot TenPaces” Jaffe.
Teemo will also have new voice lines, interactions, and more when the update comes out on October 9. Be ready for a new version of one of the most recognizable original champions.
