After being banned for commenting on Palestine during a stream, Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt has vowed to clean his house as a self-imposed punishment.
During a recent live stream, Asmongold shook up viewers by claiming Palestine has an “inferior culture that is horrible” that goes against western values. While he later tweeted that he was being “way too much of an a—hole,” Twitch agreed with fans that he went against its terms of service and banned his main account. The World of Warcraft streamer, who recently shared his issues with socializing, shared a 20-minute apology that included a shocking plan for his future.
Fans are now awaiting a cleaning livestream from the controversial content creator.
Asmongold has announced that he will clean his infamously dirty house during his Twitch ban.
Asmongold will likely be suspended from Twitch for 14 days. During this time, Asmongold shared with supporters that he will be spending that time cleaning his notoriously filthy house.
“I don’t like making apologies because I think words don’t matter,” Asmongold said in the apology. “But I do think changed actions and changed behaviors do.”
While the apology itself has fans conflicted about his behavior, what really stood out to most was Asmongold’s promise to clean his room. Asmongold told his fans that he’d be cleaning up “part” of his house and he wouldn’t be using a cleaner to do so. According to the OTK content creator, he was raised Roman Catholic and is viewing cleaning his house as penance for his actions.
“I think I need to do this for myself and take accountability for bad things I’ve done,” Asmongold said. “I need to do this for myself and for closure as well.”
Asmongold’s dirty room has always been a bit topic of discussion with fans and haters alike. He’s often been criticized for his room’s appearance as he’s grown in popularity, with many noting that he is rich enough to hire a cleaner. In the past, the World of Warcraft player has claimed he might clean up a bit, at one point even noting he could find a dead animal in his room, which is also full of old fast food containers and dirty clothes.
In a video about his mental health, Asmongold opened up about the reason behind his dirty room. He explained that he stopped caring about his health, living conditions, and hygiene after dealing with depression, his mother’s health issues, and feeling like he doesn’t fit in with society.
Under his YouTube video apology, fans are urging Asmongold to do a cleaning livestream. One joked that it would be his most viewed stream of all time, with many people cheering for Asmongold to improve his life and do better.
Another simply said: “We got Asmon planning to clean his room before GTA 6.”
