Czech Dota 2 player Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek has joined Virtus.pro in a roster switch up that sees the inactive Team Liquid player join an iconic CIS organization.
The move was announced in two parts, with Volek’s departure from Team Liquid announced earlier in the day on Nov. 24. Then, several hours later, SabeRLight-’s signing by VP was announced. Here’ all the details we know.
As mentioned, SabeRLight- wasn’t teamless for too long, with just a few hours between his departure announcement and signing with Virtus.pro. The storied veteran, who’d played across multiple regions, was most recently a part of Team Liquid, albeit on the inactive roster list.
SabeRLight- had joined Team Liquid at the tale end of 2024, with the offlaner joining following Neta “33” Shapira’s departure after TI13. He filled the role until following TI14 when he was made inactive just prior the signing of Erik “tOfu” Engel and Marcus “Ace” Christensen. He remained on the roster until today when he was formally released, and joined VP.
In their announcement post, Team Liquid thanked SabeRLight- for his time with the organization: “Thank you @jonas_volek, we’re wishing you nothing but the very best in what comes next”
Virtus.pro also released a statement on the signing of SabeRLight:
“We are pleased to announce the newest offlane player of our Dota 2 roster: Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek is joining the team.
@jonas_volek is an experienced player with a solid reputation on the international stage. Throughout his career, he has competed for TSM, Shopify Rebellion, and Team Liquid.
During his time with Liquid, Jonas had a strong 2025 season, contributing to the team’s victories at three major tournaments.”
Earlier in 2025, Virtus.pro made a move away from its purely CIS roots with the signing of Enzo “Timado” Gianoli, Abed “Abed” Yusop, and veteran Tal “Fly” Aizik. This trio, alongside Vladislav “Antares” Kertman, and now SabeRLight-, makes up VP’s roster.
The team’s next tournament will be DreamLeague Season 27, which takes place from Dec. 10. The org qualified for the tournament through the Western European qualifiers earlier in the year.
