SabeRLight- calls Arteezy “trash” after Shopify misses TI 2024

Shopify Rebellion has missed its last shot at The International 2024 after being swept by nouns, locking Artour “Arteezy” Babaev out of TI.

For years, Shopify Rebellion stood as the final boss of North American Dota 2. The superteam consistently dominated qualifier events and put up solid finishes at international events. However, the rise of nouns has threatened the team’s throne. In the closed North American qualifier for The International 2024, nouns did the impossible and swept Shopify in the grand finals to secure a trip to Copenhagen.  The upset was punctuated by a standout 37-3-32 combined score from nouns carry Yuma Langlet. The European’s 19-0 performance on Tiny in game three drove a dagger through the hearts of Arteezy fans, as the icon’s nine-year TI attendance streak will end in 2024.

Shortly following the TI 2024 qualifier, Arteezy’s former teammate Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek took to Twitch to air his grievances with the humble potato farmer.

SabeRLight- roasts Arteezy for missing TI 2024

Shortly following nouns’ victory over Shopify Rebellion, former Shopify offlaner SabeRLight- ranted about Arteezy’s skills on his Twitch channel.

“Not too much detail, right? There’s no reason to like, to like drag anyone down or air some dirty laundry, right? Uh… I think Arteezy is f***ing trash, guys! Arteezy’s trash. He’s so bad… [mic cut] Oops. And that’s it. That’s the key member,” said SabeRLight-.

SabeRLight- appears to have intentionally cut his microphone early into his rant about Arteezy, which hints that the insults are probably meant as jokes rather than genuine criticism. The two achieved solid success together across two years on Shopify Rebellion, placing top four at the Lima Major and bronze at ESL One Kuala Lumpur. However, a string of rough finishes prompted the offlaner to leave Arteezy’s squad just days before North America’s TI 2024 closed qualifiers. Shopify found a replacement in TI7 champion Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, but it wasn’t enough. Meanwhile, SabeRLight-‘s new squad Team Bald swept the first Western Europe open qualifier to earn a spot in the closed finale.

Shopify missing TI 2024 will end a nine-year streak of attendance for Arteezy. The North American core has attended every International since 2014 as part of Team Secret, Evil Geniuses, or Shopify Rebellion. He achieved third place in both 2014 and 2018, but remains one of the game’s most famous players to never lift the Aegis of Champions.
