Riot teams up with Globant to innovate in AI, esports viewing, and mobile integration

Riot Games, the creator of League of Legends and VALORANT, has announced a partnership with Globant, as per release.

Unveiled today, (Oct. 6), Globant and Riot will enter a multi-year ‘strategic partnership’ to innovate on fan experience using artificial intelligence (AI).

Riot partners with Globant to create ‘AI fan experiences’

As part of the deal, Globant will become Riot Games’ “digital transformation partner,” exploring the potential of artificial intelligence to augment esports viewing experiences and mobile integration capabilities. No other details or examples were given.

David Mulhall, Riot Games’ global head of esports partnerships and business development praised the partnership.

“Globant shares our commitment to deliver the most resonate and engaging experiences for players and fans around the world. Their deep expertise in technology will help us accelerate areas of the business so Rioters can focus on pushing creative boundaries of what’s possible in esports and live events.”

“We are thrilled to join forces with Riot Games to expand the future of gaming and esports,” said Martin Migoya, Co-founder and CEO, Globant.

“This partnership reflects our shared belief that technology and creativity can reshape how communities connect, play, and experience entertainment.”

Globant is reportedly as key player in AI integration in media and entertainment, with similar partnerships with FIFA and Formula 1. As per the organization: “By combining deep industry expertise with advanced technologies like AI, Globant has established itself as a key enabler of innovation and fan engagement for some of the world’s most influential organizations in sports, media, and gaming.”

Riot Games, of course, is the developer and publisher behind esports titles League of Legends, VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, and upcoming FGC title 2XKO. In the AI space, Riot has previously partnered with Modl.ai and is listed as a user of Amazon Web Services generative AI.

How AI integration into the fan experience will enhance Riot’s products remains to be seen.
