Valorant players can finally breathe a sigh of relief as Riot confirms a comeback for Haven and nerfs for Raze in patch 8.11.
Valorant undergoes a map swap at least once per Episode. After the last rotation at the start of Episode 8, players voiced their concerns about repetitive gameplay and overplayed maps. In response to this, Riot has shared exciting news in the latest developer update.
The developer is introducing a new map for Valorant 8.11, and to top it off, Haven is making a comeback due to popular demand.
In patch 8.0, Riot temporarily removed Haven from the map pool, which was a disappointment for Valorant veterans who adore its three-point setup. In early June, players can look forward to exploring Haven’s complex layout once again.
“We are going to be more transparent about map rotations going forward, so you’ll know when they’re happening ahead of time. In the spirit of this, we want to confirm that the map pool will be rotating in patch 8.11,” said Valorant developers.
This means players will bid farewell to Breeze and Split to accommodate the new map. Details for the new venue remain under wraps, but leaks point to a location dubbed Bastion. Size-wise, the upcoming map should be smaller and more similar to Fracture than Sunset since the current map lineup is crammed with expansive locations.
In patch 8.11, players can expect a significant overhaul across the board for duelists due to a decline in pick diversity. As a result, Riot is working to buff underplayed and overlooked agents in Valorant. As a tradeoff, the patch will come with a major nerf for Raze.
According to the developer, Raze’s satchel will take a major hit in upcoming patches to balance her mobility. Former Raze mains may consider Reyna, Neon, and Iso as their top choices, as these three agents are receiving significant buffs in 8.11. Iso’s shield paradigm and Neon’s slide will both get a facelift.
On the other hand, Reyna will be balanced to perform better in team environments, but she’s not entirely safe from potential nerfs. Riot has stated that Reyna is currently too overpowered in ranked mode. It’s safe to assume she will receive slight nerfs as well.
Raze nerfs and Haven’s return will come into effect in early June with Valorant patch 8.11.
