Riot Games has revealed the Valorant Mobile release date as well as other key details about the upcoming game at a launch event held in China.
Riot made fans very happy when it made Valorant Mobile official in April and opened pre-registrations for players domestically in China. Fans wanted to know when Valorant Mobile would be released globally, but they were content with the confirmation that the game is finally coming to Android and iOS devices.
Eager Valorant players have been waiting keenly for any news and other potential details about Valorant Mobile since the game was officially announced. Fans no longer need to wait for the release date to be announced, as it was revealed on August 3 at the Valorant Mobile China Launch Event at ChinaJoy.
Riot Games announced that Valorant Mobile will be officially launched in China on August 19.
Valorant Mobile has received a record-breaking amount of pre-registrations. With an unprecedented 60 million players already signing up to play the game, Valorant Mobile has taken the gaming world by storm even before its official release. The game was previously expected to release as an open beta, but according to recent reports, the game will officially be launched on August 19.

Valorant Mobile will be launched initially solely in the Chinese market. This isn’t surprising, as it was already revealed that the game would be released globally some time after its Chinese launch. It’s unclear when exactly Riot will release the game outside of China, and it may depend on the success and smoothness of the game’s China release. If things are stable during the Chinese launch, then the game may be released that much sooner globally.
Valorant Mobile will feature 18 agents at launch, as opposed to the full roster of 27 that the PC version has. Clove, Deadlock, Fade, Gekko, Harbor, KAY/O, Tejo, Vyse, and Waylay are all ste to be missing from the game at launch. There is no confirmation whether the missing agents will be added to the game at a later date or not.
Riot has also added seven maps in Valorant Mobile, plus 2 original mobile-exclusive TDM maps. The game will feature a total of 10 game modes, including Competitive, Deathmatch, Rush, and Spike. Some of the game modes in Valorant Mobile aren’t yet available in the game’s PC version.

Tencent and Riot say that they plan to continuously support the game and build the infrastructure of Valorant Mobile over a three-year period. The developer will reportedly invest over 1.5 billion CNY ($200 million) into Valorant Mobile. The goal of the investment is apparently to “build a multi-aspect service environment infrastructure.” This is a significant investment and highlights the developer’s commitment to making the game as good as possible for fans who want to play it on mobile devices.
