While Valve has yet to reveal a planned release date for Ringmaster, here’s when players can expect the clown king to put on a show.
Ringmaster, Dota 2’s newest upcoming hero, was announced during The International 2023 and promised to be released sometime in 2024. Time works differently inside Valve, a company notorious for releasing games “when they are ready.” Sometimes, the company doesn’t even announce a game despite getting massively leaked. The new Dota 2 hero Ringmaster still only has a cinematic trailer, but fans are already excited about him. The hero is slated to release sometime in 2024, but with half the year gone, many fans are getting anxious.
Ringmaster will launch sometime in 2024 with no set release date. While many believed the hero would be released with the Crownfall event, this so far isn’t the case.
Valve has released at least one Dota 2 hero each year for several years. Muerta, the last Dota 2 hero, was released in March 2023. Before her, Primal Beast was released in February 2022. Fans hoped that Ringmaster would also follow suit and release in the first quarter of 2024, but that hasn’t been the case.
The Dota 2 developers are also quiet about the new hero. With no new media or interviews regarding Ringmaster, fans are left waiting for more information about the upcoming hero. The Crownfall Act 4 is yet to be released, so there’s a chance Ringmaster might enter the ring then. Hopes of seeing two new heroes in 2024, like Dawnbreaker and Marci, in 2021, are all but dashed.
No official Ringmaster Dota 2 abilities are known yet, but fans speculate he’ll play like Puppet Master from Heroes of Newerth.
Puppet Master uses mind control powers in Heroes of Newerth. The Ringmaster cinematic trailer also hints at the hero controlling enemy heroes using abilities. Sharp-eared fans have already pointed out Mars saying “Get out of my head” and the Windranger arcana claiming “The string of my bow draws only at my command” in the trailer’s background.
Voice actor John de Lancie is voicing the menacing Ringmaster. The actor has previously voiced Lord Ritterfau in DOTA: Dragon’s Blood animated series. He has also lent his voice to Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed. Fans will have to wait longer as Valve has yet to announce the official release date for Ringmaster.
