Characters from the Devil May Cry series and James Cameron’s Avatar are reportedly coming to Fortnite.
Fortnite is no stranger to collaborations. From anime characters like Goku and Naruto to iconic toy brands like Lego, no IP collaboration is impossible for Epic Games’ enduring battle royale. This has been proven many times over and it’s set to continue on, as a report says that Devil May Cry game series and Avatar are coming to Fortnite.
The claim of these two collaborations being in Fortnite’s future comes from Nick Baker of XboxEra, who previously broke the news on Fortnite adding the Doom Slayer and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A loading screen from Chapter 5 Season 1 also hinted at one of the two collaborations and Nick claims to know which character from Avatar will come to the Fortnite roster.
Devil May Cry’s Dante and Avatar’s Jake Sully are coming to Fortnite, if recent reports are to be believed.
Baker claimed in the XboxEra podcast that characters from Capcom’s hack-and-slash and the iconic sci-fi film franchise are set to come to Fortnite. He speculates that Dante has the highest possibility of being introduced to the game out of all of the Devil May Cry characters. He added that Jake Sully from Avatar will come to Fortnite and quipped that he’d be one of the tallest skins in Fortnite if Epic Games decides to be “lore-accurate.” The Na’vi from Avatar are typically around 10 feet tall.
A loading screen in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 also hints that Dante might be added to the game. The screen shows Jonesy’s weapon having a small reflection of what looks like the silhouette of Dante in his Devil May Cry 3 outfit.
There is currently no information on when Fortnite will collaborate with Avatar or Devil May Cry, as Epic has not announced anything regarding the collaborations.
Since the loading screen that teases Dante is in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, that almost certainly confirms that he will be released at some point during the season. That may not be the case with Avatar, however.
Baker stated the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration would happen two years before it came out in 2023 alongside the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie. This might suggest that the Avatar x Fortnite collaboration might not be until 2025 when Avatar 3 comes out, but there wasn’t an estimated release date on the podcast. It’s possible the skins could come out sooner.
