Good news and bad news for Rockstar Games fans. The good news is that Rockstar is hard at work on the next GTA title. The bad news is that support for Red Dead Online will be taking a hit.
Red Dead Online hasn’t been the massive success that GTA 5 Online was. Although there seems to be a lot of promise there, the western setting limits what the developers can add to the space.
GTA 5 online is massively popular, and Rockstar likely won’t stop making new content to bring players back. With RDO faltering, it doesn’t make sense for Rockstar to dedicate as much manpower to it.
In a recent blog post, the Rockstar team said that they’d still produce updates for Red Dead Online, but no new content.
“We plan to build upon existing modes and add new Telegram Missions this year, rather than delivering major themed content updates like in previous years,” they wrote.
It’s not a shocking development, although RDO fans can’t be too happy. Rockstar shouldn’t spread themselves too thin – and fans of their work will be happy to hear that all eyes are on the next GTA game, which should be great.
