Pro CS2 team’s weird Amouranth chant explained

Amouranth ASMR

Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa’s esports organization Wildcard is making strides in the Counter-Strike 2 scene, bagging a slot at the CS2 Shanghai Major. Here’s how Amouranth’s CS2 team dedicated its win to the Only Fans model.

The Perfect World CS2 Major is just around the corner, with RMR games already in full swing. Teams are battling for a ticket to Shanghai, and despite Valve’s decision to eliminate open qualifiers, the event has already delivered some incredible storylines. After Drillas’ jaw-dropping performance and meme-worthy run, Wildcards have added a touch of humor to its major-qualifying win.

Famed Twitch streamer Amouranth bought majority ownership in North American organization Wildcards in June, which fields teams in Rainbow Six Seige and Counter-Strike 2. Three months after the new ownership, the team has secured its biggest milestone to date by qualifying for the CS2 major.

Wildcard secured the first spot from the Americas RMR for the Perfect World Shanghai Major, defeating 9z in a 2-0 series. The team, led by Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz, had already impressed by beating top-tier teams Liquid and paiN in earlier matches. The series against 9z saw Wildcard face a tough challenge on Nuke, but it controlled the game from the start on Inferno, locking a spot in the major.

After securing their spot in the major with a win over 9z, the Wildcard players left their posts and gathered in a circle, chanting “Amouranth,” the name of their team owner.

With this win, Amouranth’s CS2 team not only qualified to play in the major but also earned their forever mark in CS2, a team sticker. This would be the team’s first sticker ever, which marks quite a big milestone for the organization and owner Amouranth.

Since Wildcard’s win, fans have started drawing comparisons between Amouranth and Mark “ohnePixel.” The latter is also a popular streamer, but his content specifically revolves around CS2, leading to higher expectations for his team, who ultimately lost their qualifying game. However, these comparisons are primarily made in good humor, as Amouranth doesn’t have a direct impact on Wildcard’s performance.

From chants to controversies, dive into the unexpected drama of Kanye West’s DMs to Amouranth for the latest buzz.
