Minecraft YouTuber Patrick “PopularMMOs” Julianelle was arrested earlier this year and has now pled guilty to assaulting a cop.
PopularMMOs is a massively popular YouTuber who has grown to over 17.1 million subscribers with his lighthearted Minecraft content and silly slice-of-life videos. However, PopularMMOs shared a shocking update a year ago in a video called “I went to jail.” There’s now been an update after his arrest, and PopularMMOs has pled guilty to assaulting a police officer. After resisting arrest back in March, an officer sustained minor injuries. Now, PopularMMOs has taken a plea deal a year later. His sentence is light and he’s avoiding jail time. Instead, the 35-year-old Minecraft content creator was given 12 months probation.
On top of that, he was told to write an apology letter to the officer he attacked, donate $1,000 to the Police Memorial Fund, and do 100 hours of community service.
PopularMMOs fans were disappointed to learn of the incident involving their favorite YouTuber attacking a cop. Many felt it was out of character and that he’s changed over the last year. Some fans even pointed out that his wife Jen left him a few years ago, allegedly over her wanting a child while the YouTuber did not. Jen has a child now, but some feel that PopularMMOs has gone downhill on his end, with fans noting the sadness in his eyes during a TikTok interview about the subject matter.
Unfortunately for fans of the YouTuber, getting in trouble for violence is nothing new. In the spring of 2021, PopularMMOs was arrested over domestic battery allegations. At first, PopularMMOs told his fans in a since-deleted tweet that it wasn’t true and not to listen to what people say online. This left fans wondering if the name in the police reports was just a coincidence and that the “real” PopularMMOs was innocent.
However, a public information officer later confirmed that PopularMMOs was arrested. While this was being discussed on X, Jen liked a tweet about the streamer’s record. She later claimed this was an accident and said he “never laid his hands” on her over the 10 years they were dating. This is nowhere near as comical of a situation as Stephen “SteveWillDoIt” Deleonardis getting caught trespassing with a fake mustache.
